Erin was very professional. She was the first person to respond to my request for a pet sitter. Her schedule fit what I needed, even when I needed her for additional dates. She was wonderful with my 3 pets, 2 cats and a dog. She sent me daily pictures of my babies. My dog who is very wary of strangers warmed up to her nicely. She also watched my house. She is extremely trustworthy. I highly recommend her.

Love love this company! My Chokie is baby and I wouldn't just let anybody walk him. But I know he is in great hands with Toppaws. The care he gets with them is super, I will recommend them to friends and family. They are the best dog walkers and sitters out there

I live in Los Angeles and travel to Vegas often and always bring my dog, Schnoopy with me. I had an all day business commitment that didn't allow me to bring him along and I'm not use to ever leaving him alone for more than three hours. Lynn was recommended to me so I called her up and asked if she would meet with me beforehand so that she could meet Schnoopy, it was clear that she was a true animal lover the ways she interacted with him. I could see my little Schnoopy felt comfortable around her. I'm extremely over-protective about Schnoopy and gave her very detailed instructions about his care, which she took very seriously. The next day while she watched him she sent me frequent updates and pictures. Lynn was wonderful with him and super accommodating to my last minute request for a dog-sitter. My only complaint is that she lives in Vegas and I wish she lived in LA so she could watch him here! Thank you Lynn! Licks from Schnoopy!

To whom it may concern, Ursula is extremely trust worthy and a huge dog lover. She is gentle, sweet and loving. The animals love her tender nature. She followed any instruction I left for her including administrating medication to one of my babies. Ursula played with them and provided so much love and attention to them. I don't even think they missed me.. LOL! Not only did she keep my babies company but she checked the mail, watered my plants and took out trash on trash day! I feel completely safe with Ursula in my home, she is a mature, responsible young lady and now my new pet sitter. Your babies will LOVE her!!!

Aeryn was a caring, reliable, and energetic sitter for my 2 year old mini schnauzer. She fed, played, bathed, and cleaned up after him. I could trust Aeryn into my home without supervision and know that my dog and home were in good hands.

I will look after your pet and take care of your pet while you are away. I love all animals. I will treat them like my own.

Loving animals is what I do best. So you have to give them the attention they need: walking, running, playing, grooming, or just some plain old petting and scratching. Dogs are trustworthy and very loyal when treated with the right care and affection, and that's where I come in. I'm here to take care of your animals when you're super busy and don't want your animals to feel neglected. I am the person you can call on when you need a little extra help with your dog.

I will walk, feed and love them. It is not a business to me when you love what you do. I only can work at night.

Its because I take pride in it,s just interesting

I watch dogs, make sure they get their foods, baths, walks, and beauty rests and clean after them.

I don't have a business, but I do pet sit or walk for dogs/cats. I'm a friendly person, and you can trust me with your pets also. Text me, and let me know.

I've had dogs and other animals all my life. I have been a dog trainer for the past 3 years working on basic obedience, therapy training, and service dog training. I have also been the "house mother" at Vegas Shepherd Rescue for the past two years dealing with many dogs with various issues. I have a female white shepherd named Luna and an 11 year cat named Izzy. I have experience administering all types of medications and have taken care of senior and special needs animals as well.

I have 18 years of babysitter experience from ages 0-18. I can clean anything and everything; just supply me and point me in the right direction. I graduated in high school with high honors and have specialty in math, English, and computers. I love pets and exercise. I can walk, run, feed, play, and sit animals. I can be a live-in or live-out nanny. I am a high-energy, fun-loving, 18-year old high school graduate looking to put my many hardworking abilities to work.

My daughter and myself will give special love and attention to every animal in our care as if they were our own. I am dependable and trustworthy. I have extreme love and respect to all animals.

I rescue animals from puppy mills. I own two retrievers that I rescued from puppy mills, and I am part of the Golden Retriever Rescue Foundation.

As full time students and full time workers, my partner and I understand that life can be busy and hectic. That's why we take pride in fast response times and are quick to make changes as need be. We both also have experience in retail and place a huge emphasis on the fact that, ultimately, we answer to you.

I'm great with dogs. I've had a lab, a chihuahua, and a poodle. I can watch over your pet. I'll give your pet food, water, and exercise. It's not a problem!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

    • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
    • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
      • 45-minute visit: $28.
      • 60-minute visit: $32.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
      • 12 hours: $100.
      • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.
