I’ve had a number of inspections done in past properties. The inspection by Gold Star Inspections was the best.
Randy and Ruth are a phenomenal team. I was impressed by their professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine care they put into every step of their inspection. The report itself was excellent, covering all issues and providing photos that will help get everything repaired and up to code. Our realtor was also impressed. Gold Star also went above and beyond in making sure we understood which issues were most concerning and what the causes may be. Highly recommend.

Lifesavers!! The best part of our homeownership process. This team was so professional and personable, consistently precise in giving information. Their website goes over everything they inspect, and is very informative.
Ruth Ann answered all of my questions directly, and made concise suggestions through Thumbtack messenger. She invested thought into what would be good alternatives for rectifying our concerns. She was very genuine in helping us with local recommendations for other specialty services. She responded to questions within 1-2 hours. She was able to place an appointment for us within the next 5 days and holiday weekend, I commend them for making this happen!!!
Randy and RA rolled into location early, and surprised us with SWAG!! They saw problems we would not have seen. They were even able to open a lodged door and thoroughly inspected the sheds and workshop. They took at most 2.5 hours for inspection. Their photographic memory is on point, they walked through without a notebook, so we were more impressed.
Once the inspection was completed they gave a summary and answered questions. Randy and Ruth Ann listed solutions for problems by giving us an in depth explanation as to why the issues occurred and how to cost efficiently fix them. We obtained a sound piece of mind and a heads up on what we should focus on when we move in.
We chose payment onsite. This included an awesomely affordable inspection rate + travel cost.
The written report was completed before the week was over. The presentation is very impressive and easy to follow. The report is set in file tabs. The photos are clearly labeled, arrows are used to point specific details. Our auntie, who has a government background, was impressed at how superior GSI's report layout is.
GSI went far beyond our expectations. The knowledge Ruth Ann and Randy imparted on us in the process was invaluable. Their professionalism and amiability has us forever grateful for their services!! ^_^

I am a licensed and insured Nevada Inspector of Structures (IOS). Beyond my experience working in the trades, I have completed over 120 hours of formal training focused on inspections and passed the in-depth 200 question Examination Board of Professional Home Inspectors rigorous National Home Inspector Examination®. I attend annual conferences and seek out additional training to stay abreast of emerging technologies, new code, and issues related to building inspection.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
With over 40 years experience in the trades, home and commercial building inspections allow me to share my knowledge and experience to help clients buy with confidence as to the condition of the home or commercial building they are buying.
