FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm not legally required by NYS to take any continuing education courses during the first three years of my licensure. However, I continue to read up on massage techniques, news and have a great interest in learning the art of cupping.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was giving massages to friends and family members since I was 16 (I'm 31 now), but I never lived close to a massage school until I moved to Albany for college. When I graduated with a degree in English and Philosophy in 2005, I never felt any real passion for the work that I did. It was the Fall of 2010 when I finally made the decision to apply to the Center for Natural Wellness School of Massage Therapy.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I suffered a mildly severe lower lumbar disc herniation while in massage school and it gave me a deeper appreciation for the human body. I was able to learn about my injury, he muscles which were involved and what was necessary in order to heal. The experience has allowed me to sympathize with my clients on a greater level.
