Introduction: I'm a personal trainer based in the New York metro area ready to help you reach your fitness and physique goals. I have been training for six years and enjoy working with a wide variety of clients. I hold additional certifications to work with teens and seniors and have experience training people with special needs and various types of injuries as well. I love working with people and value all of my clients. In my training I employ movements that build structural integrity, strength and a symmetric physique and scale them appropriately to the client's abilities. I believe form is paramount to training safely and effectively. As a type one diabetic and celiac, I also have a unique and extensive background in nutrition and various diets, and have helped create better dietary habits and strategies consistent with client goals. I work in both gyms, home and outdoors environments, getting creative if necessary. Whether you are looking for one session or a longer term relationship with a trainer, I hope we can work together and achieve your goals. As you may see I offer "health and wellness coaching" as well as personal training. This is for people who may not want to have dedicated weekly training sessions, who are self starters and want a more hands off approach (with guidance), or who aren't looking for training, but are looking for improvement in diet, perhaps injury rehab or posture. This would be done remotely and would involve weekly check ins, a program/schedule/routine, and instead of a per session cost, there would be a weekly cost. The $60 is the initial intake, program design, strategy session, and the following per week cost is only $20. I started working with John virtually due to the COVID restrictions on gym availability. I don't have a lot of equipment at home but with some dumbbells and bands John has been giving me workouts that make me feel just as challenged as I would be if I were in a gym. While we all have the option of walking or running outdoors, I really appreciate being able to keep a routine of resistance training at home through this time.

One of the biggest things John helped me fix is the lack of structure in my activity and diet. I have always been active but could never stick to a good routine either in the gym or in the kitchen. John made a routine with me that I enjoy and understand the point and value of, not full of exercises to fill up space. We made small gradual changes to my diet and habits, saw how they worked out for me, and kept what worked and what didn't. I like that he was always patient, flexible, and wanted my input on the changes we made.

I had a back injury and became terrified of working out. I needed someone who could push me while be knowledgeable of my limitations. Not only does John have extensive knowledge of proper workout techniques, but is also able to explain things where I can understand what I am supposed to do. Numerous times, I would be surprised how much a difference a small adjustment from John can make! I am able to move and excersise confidently after John's coaching and guidance. John is very accommodating with my variable schedule and tailors all the workouts to my needs. I highly recommend John if you are looking for someone who will guide you through an awesome workout experience!

John and I have been working together for 6 months. I've worked with other trainers before with decent success, but I felt that after a little while it just became a routine and I wasn't moving forward. John always tries to keep me moving forward and I feel like he genuinely cares that I improve. He knows how to push just enough to make me work hard without feeling beat up. He always encourages me and it honestly makes me want to work harder.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    My fee is inclusive of any gym and travel costs. In certain situations where there is no fee I may be able to offer a slight discount. Feel free to message. I offer discounts on packages as well.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    First we discuss goals, lifestyle and health with regard to training, and past health and training history. After some assessments, I communicate where they stand and what my plan would be for helping them achieve their goals both from an exercise, lifestyle, and nutritional perspective. We then work out some short term goals to help us get there.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I am NASM certified, have liability insurance, CPR/AED certification, and specializations in youth and senior fitness, and nutrient timing.
