So when I first looked at the price per lesson I thought, "This is too good to be true, or the lessons will probably be subpar." Boy was I wrong!! She's a great tutor. I've taken a few classes with Lorraine and my Spanish has come a long way! I always look forward to our lessons. She's such a nice and caring teacher. She's been Super flexible with our sessions. I live in Texas and she lives in NY so we have a bit of time difference between us. There are days when I need to reschedule because of my hectic work schedule and she is always so understanding tell me that she's here for me and that she is available whenever my time permits. She took the time to get to know a little about me during our first lesson (she did not deduct this time from our hour) to get a feel for my background, and where my Spanish was (I knew a little already) so she would know where to begin with our lessons. Our lessons are via telephone but they are super productive. Don't let this deter you from signing up. She sends material ahead of time (or sometimes during the lessons) that we go over them together, and we even learn via Youtube tutorials. She tells me to "immerse" myself in the language and encourages me to listen to Spanish as much as I can outside of our lessons. She is a really great and caring teacher so do yourself a favor and improve your Spanish by choosing this tutor. You won't regret it : ) Plus, you don't have to sign up for a certain amount of lessons. So try her for an hour (1 class) and see how you like her. Worst case scenario you're out $20ish bucks, and let's face it...that's practically nothing in the world of tutoring :) Hope this review helps someone to find a Spanish tutor. Best of luck!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began a Masters Degree program and unfortunately it became difficult to continue due to my responsibility as a mother of 3 children and a full-time job, therefore, I temporarily withdrew. However, I will endeavor to try again at a later time.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a high school student, I knew I wanted to become an instructor and therefore continued on to study secondary/adult education and realized later, I enjoy working with people and teaching children especially.
What types of customers have you worked with?
One on one tutoring is more effective and therefore it is my specialty. It is my joy to see my students capture the essence of the topic. The light that flashes in their eyes when they finally understand what was so difficult to grasp!
