Certified Instructor in HSI, Red Cross First Aid, BLS, CPR, and AED, empowering individuals with essential life-saving skills. Experienced AVERT (Active Violence Emergency Response Training) Instructor, providing critical training for emergency preparedness. Duly Authorized Firearms Instructor, committed to responsible and safe firearm education. Stop the Bleed Instructor, dedicated to equipping people with the knowledge to act quickly in emergency situations.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Kevin Earnest, whose career began in healthcare in the early 1980s as an Ambulette Driver. Kevin's interest in the emergency services field started as he was in the vicinity of the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993, only to return 8 years later as a New York State EMT in efforts to become a lifesaver. With over 21 years as a NYS EMT, he became a First Aid and CPR instructor with over 10 years of teaching through the National Safety Council and the American Red Cross. Kevin is passionate about first aid and believes everyone should have the skills and confidence to take action in an emergency situation. Kevin remains active in the field as an Occupational Medical Health Technician and volunteers his time at Forest Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps, where he quickly rose to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. Kevin enjoys helping others and expanded his craft to Public Safety in Security since 2010, while upgrading to an Armed Security Guard. In 2020, Kevin became a National Rifle Association Range Safety Officer / Firearms Instructor and teacher in the following disciplines: Pistol, Rifle, and Shotgun.
