Introduction: Hello all! I'm Dylan McKinstry - musician, teacher, and sound engineer.
As a teacher, I feel that the best, most lasting way to learn an instrument is to love the music you play on it! I taylor all of my lessons not only to the individualized needs of the students, but to their specific passions in music. Why learn music you don't like when it's so easy to teach technique, theory, and individuality, and expressiveness through the music you already love?
I grew up in a musical house hold and was learning how to compose, perform, and studio engineer from a young age. I have a lifetime of experience with teaching, performing, and audio engineering, and would love to help you learn and instrument or complete a project you've been working on!
I get to be around music everyday! The people I work with always walk away feeling the same excitement and love I do for music and sound. I take pride in what I do, and I care about providing the best, most positive experience I possibly can.

In concert: Dylan's music is powerful in its technique and its poetry, and he has a rare ability to make a public performance feel intimate because he connects to the audience through every song. His work is rhythmically and lyrically complex, inviting, and distinctive. From fingerstyle guitar to banjo to mandolin to ballads, his music always impresses me with its variety and depth.
