- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rates are $60 for an hour, $50 for 45 minutes, and $40 for half an hour. If I am traveling to the student, there is a $10 travel fee per lesson.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started playing guitar at nine years old. Since then, teaching has become a major focus of mine in addition to performing. It's extremely gratifying to share music and knowledge with others and then see what they do with it using their own individuality and creativity.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Many people come to me looking to learn West African music, seeing as that's a lot of what I currently do professionally and also something of a niche market. However, I have had a lot of positive experiences teaching complete beginners who just want to learn a few songs they like and people with some experience looking to improve their playing in jazz, rock, blues, or many other genres.
