We had a move from Brooklyn, NY to Southampton NY. CroMont’s rep was great and arranged everything on the phone. They arrived on time and were very professional in the wrapping and handling of my furniture . I thought the cost was reasonable and more than competitive.

CroMont moving did an excellent job with my move from Brooklyn, NY to Annapolis, Maryland! They are definitely a good choice if you want a cost-conscious option for moving your belongings. They were on time, efficient, thoughtful, creative, and diligent in the packing process, which put me at great ease. Allen, who helped me on the estimates, and Mark, who led the team at the apartment all day and then drove down to Maryland in the PM, were both terrific.

Unfortunately tho, I have to give four stars. They really fumbled the end game. After the move out was complete, but hours before it was delivered to the destination, they started to bother me about settling the balance of the agreed upon quote (I’d paid only a down payment). They called not even an hour after the stuff had left the origin, asking for payment. I was uncomfortable paying for the rest seeing as how the move was not completed, so I said that I would settle up that evening after everything was situated at the destination. The reply I got back was “actually, we need you to do the payment sooner” (paraphrasing). I said I’d take a look soon, and I hung up. About 30m later, their billing department called me, a much less pleasant person, reminding me that I had a balance due. Seeing as how I had an army of contractors (painters, plumbers, cleaners) at my place in that moment, I again reminded them that I’d take a look when I got a chance. Then they called me again. So I stopped what i was doing, and went to go pay. Then their payment links didn’t work (some error online). So I called them back, worried that I would initiate a double payment if I tried again. They dismissed my concern out of hand, and told me to try again. I did so, still didn’t work, new error. Then they asked me to use non-preferred payment methods like Zelle, which I resisted doing. Then they finally sent me a quickbooks payment link and it finally worked. But the attitude they had with me the whole time…it was like a loan shark collecting on an overdue debt. And their work wasn’t even done yet — stuff was still being driven to Maryland!!

Really quite sad this happened at the end, because the pickup and delivery of the stuff was 100% perfect. So so disappointed in the way they handled me as a customer on the billing side. Hopefully from reviews like this, they’ll learn their lesson. But if i had to move again, I would choose them again…despite all this. The move itself was VERY good.

We usually take the payment a day before, it even says in the contract, due to some misfortune in the past, but we are lenient enough to let the customers pay after the pick up. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our prices are all-inclusive. We keep it fair & square. Upfront, no time limits, no hidden fees.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Best method for us is a visual, be it video call or on-site estimate. Phone call with pictures is great as well. This is the best process of getting an all-inclusive quote. Most of the time when there are changes or extra charges it's due to representative or sales consultant making a mistake or misrepresenting. There is many components to a move, and just texting or phone call will not do it all. We can take more time and we will ask you for pictures because we care about providing correct estimates and preparing our crews and movers for the right move without surprises to the customer or us.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Decades of experience from small to largest moving companies in NY. We have been at the bottom of the food-chain to the top. We have seen it all. That is why we decided to open a company, and do things a bit differently. With pride, honesty and integrity. We believe in detailed quote process and great moving day execution.
