I also choose "value" and "punctuality" even though I can't check those boxes! Rafael was wonderful! He spent so much time diligently working on our piano, which now sounds amazing. I highly recommend Tuning Fork!Jan 6, 2021Verified

My upright piano hasn't been tuned for over a year and Rafael was able to get it back in shape. I booked a tuning the night before and he showed up on time the next morning. Responsive and professional. Highly recommend!Dec 29, 2020Verified

He did an excellent job for our piano that had not been tuned in ten years. The piano sounds so much better and he was able to quickly fix a part in the piano that had gone crooked. It was a pleasure to meet and converse with him as well.Dec 28, 2020Verified

I just asked Rafael if he would tune my parents Steinway from the 20s that was just collecting dust. Not only did he tune it he revamped it, completely brought it back to life. He rounded the heads of the hammers, replaced some keys, and some strings. We were getting sky high quotes to refurbish this piano but we didn’t need it refurbished we just needed it to be playable. And along came Rafael the first guy who wasn’t here to scam us. His pricing was very fair and he worked quickly and professionally. He did not get in anyone’s way (which is not easy in a Manhatten apartment). He was truly a pleasure to do business with. A+ 5 stars! If there were a sixth star he would get it. I would definitely recommend Rafael to anyone in need of a piano tuning. Thank you Rafael!Nov 23, 2020Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? The $150 fee covers tuning, general cleaning and assessment. Other issues like sticking keys, squeaky pedals or loose hammers due to loose screws are also included in the price. Broken strings, serious key problems and action regulation are extra - once I assess the piano, I can give you a more accurate quote for this type of work.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I’ve over 40 years of music performance experience, from recording and touring to composing and arranging music for musical groups, theater, film and tv. I believe that as a lifetime pianist and performer, those experiences give me a unique point of view when it comes to serving my clients musical needs.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I’ve always been intrigue by the mechanics of the piano ever since I started playing when I was four years old. Yet it wasn’t until I decided to take a break from performing that I seriously immerse myself in piano tuning and technology.
