FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
In Park Slope, I charge between $75 and $125 per therapy session (50'-60') based on annual gross family income. Take your total family income and divide by 1000. If it is between $75 and $125, that's your fee. I can't take on patients for less and I only charge more for patients who need to be seen outside the office.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I read several books every year on new developments in psychotherapy and on specific problems that my clients face. I find that typical continuing education courses are a waste of time. They're geared towards people who don't want to bother to read books.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Many years ago, I suffered from panic disorder with agoraphobia. At the time, I couldn't find effective therapy. I really had to learn CBT to help myself. I love to tell my patients with panic attacks: "I've been there. If I could get better, I know that you can."
