FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I choose to do 45 min. and 1 hr lessons so students can get the most out of their education. Students need time to synthesize and experiment with concepts. 1 hr lessons are the best value and can make all the difference in you or your child excelling in their musical journey!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I teach through repertoire, and will soon assign a folk song or two to begin working with voice/conducting students For theory, we begin by studying short pieces. This will help me assess the student's ability. For piano, I begin by assessing reading and assigning pieces based on current ability.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Master's degree (M.Mus.) in Choral Conducting where I served as a graduate teaching assistant. I taught choir, private conducting, and composition for the university during this time. I have taught private voice lessons for years and I regularly musically direct musical theatre projects for various theatre companies. I studied piano as a secondary instrument all through college, focusing on classical and jazz, while using those skills to write in a contemporary/musical theatre/popular style. I hold a Bachelor's degree (B.Mus.) in Music Composition, and excel in teaching music theory and concepts in writing/songwriting.
