Toni Seawright is an award-winning vocalist, actress, educator, and artist development coach whose career has been dedicated to nurturing creativity, confidence, and excellence in performers of all ages. A trailblazer in the entertainment industry, Toni made history as the first African American woman crowned Miss Mississippi, later becoming the 4th Runner-Up in the Miss America Pageant, a groundbreaking accomplishment that helped pave the way for greater representation and opportunity for women of color. With a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Mississippi University for Women and a Master’s Degree in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University, Toni brings decades of professional experience in music, theater, television, and live performance into her work as a vocal music and acting instructor. An AUDELCO Award-winning actress and seasoned performer, she has appeared on Broadway and shared the stage with legendary artists including Melba Moore, Teena Marie, Freddie Jackson, and Jennifer Holliday. As a vocal coach, music educator, and mentor, Toni specializes in developing the complete artist—not only strengthening vocal technique and acting skills, but also cultivating stage presence, confidence, emotional connection, and artistic identity. Her teaching philosophy centers on understanding the unique needs of each performer and helping them discover their authentic voice and purpose as artists. Currently teaching vocal music and percussion at Brooklyn Ascend Middle School, Toni has become known for producing dynamic student showcases and Black History Month performances that blend artistry, storytelling, and cultural awareness. She also works closely with aspiring singers, actors, and performers through artist development, guiding them in performance preparation, live presentation, and professional growth. Through her company, Toni Seawright Music & Entertainment, Inc., Toni continues to mentor and develop emerging talent, offering artists a supportive and empowering environment where creativity can flourish. Her passion lies not only in creating great performers, but in helping artists grow into confident, disciplined, and purpose-driven individuals both on and off the stage. Whether in the classroom, rehearsal studio, or performance space, Toni Seawright remains committed to inspiring others through the transformative power of music, acting, and artistic expression.
