- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My hourly rate is $44-50. Venmo and Zelle are the accepted forms of payment. I usually work with students for 1-2 hours per session. For elementary school students I recommend 30-45 min per session.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I personalize all my tutoring sessions based on the student’s needs. First, we discuss the goal(s), such as getting a better grade or preparing for a standardized test. Then, we determine the steps to take in order to succeed and I create an individualized plan for every tutoring session.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started as a volunteer tutor at the Star Learning Center in NYC when I was a junior in high school. I really wanted to work with students one-on-one and help them succeed in school. Tutoring someone and seeing them understand a subject better and improve their grades is a very rewarding process!
