And you can be sure you'll be listened to and included in the process; I have years of experience as a tutor and teacher, so I'll show and instruct as we go if you're interested. I love to discover the potential in a piece of writing and -- most importantly -- help a writer discover their voice within it. Like that possibly apocryphal story about Michelangelo finding the sculpture within the block of stone, I get immense joy from helping a client chip away at the unnecessary to reveal the masterpiece, whether it's a novel or a perfect letter, waiting inside.

Olga helps me with anything important I have to write. We met when I was doing an MA and putting on a theater performance and she wrote the script for our collaborative play. She is a great writer and also understands all the grammatical ins and outs. She then helped me as an editor as I embarked into the world of work and had to have a resume and cover letters to get the jobs I wanted! Most recently I have begun a PhD program and Olga edited my personal statement - making it smooth, understandable, and grammatically correct. She also gave insightful comments and clarifications along with crucial typo and grammar corrections. I am endlessly grateful to have Olga's help as an editor!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor's degree in writing and am currently working on a master's in journalism. I'm constantly learning to write better, read better, and edit better. You get the benefit of my ongoing education!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I love language and have been a grammar geek since childhood -- and as a teacher I've discovered an abiding passion for helping students find their own ways with a little help. Editing is a perfect blend of those interests -- and the grammar geek in me gets to have her fun too.
