Introduction: Recently shifting gears in becoming a youth media educator, I bring over a decade of experience in film and television production. I've edited for ABC News; worked in various capacities on a few nationally broadcast documentaries; worked as a freelance videographer/editor for a small TV station; and, fresh out of film school, taught a cinema arts elective to high school seniors.
I really enjoy the process--and result--of helping to realize someone else's creative vision. Collaboration is very important to me, and using my craft to aid and support that vision is an essential part of "what I do".

I had this idea for a short film, but having only worked with photography, I definitely needed some help and direction with the transition to film. I hired Omar for filmmaking lessons and he was worth his weight in gold! He is super patient and willing to re-explain things (which I needed often!).
Omar helped me to understand not only how to do the most common film techniques used to film and edit, he also taught me why different techniques are more preferable than others and what I can do visually to say something more than what the viewer is seeing.
Omar is clearly a professional and I can't recommend him enough.
