Introduction: We are a music studio based in Brooklyn and offer violin, piano and drums/percussion lessons, as well as improvisation for all instruments, music theory, composition and computer/ electronic music. We teach from our studio and can also travel to your home.
Who we are:
Johnna teaches violin and improvisation to students of all ages and levels in classical violin and improvisation. She was a Fulbright Scholar in Berlin, Germany where she pursued research in contemporary music and improvisation. She has a Masters in Music from the Juilliard School and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Music Theory/History from Columbia University.
Simon is teaching piano to beginner to mid-level students and jazz piano to advanced students, as well as drums and percussion/ vibraphone. In addition, he is offering lessons in improvisation for all instruments, music theory, composition, and computer/ electronic music. He has a Bachelor in Music from the University of the Arts in Berlin in both piano and percussion/ jazz vibraphone, as well as classical composition. Johnna and Simon founded their own ensemble called PinkNoise in 2018 and perform throughout New York, the States and Europe.
We truly enjoy teaching, and we love watching our students develop and grow not just through reading and learning notes, but through a holistic and well-rounded approach to music that allows our students to learn and develop creatively as well.
