I believe a wedding ceremony is a very special moment in our lives, so I like to provide a customized experience; one that you will cherish and look fondly back on. I will work with you to design your wedding ceremony, and reception, to be as individual and personal as you wish, and can also assist in the event planning, including helping write meaningful vows for the special day, and guiding you through the marriage application process. As a native from Brooklyn, I know my way around the city and will be able to guide you if you are from out of town and need suggestions for a venue. I am a big romantic and what's more romantic than watching two people pledge their love and commit their lives to one another. As an officiant I get to make it official and I love being a part of that. As a planner I get to help make everything come together by making the couple's vision become a reality.

Cindy was a thrill to work with! My husband and I were married in June 2015. We booked with Cindy several months in advance and Cindy quickly provided us with a sample script and ideas for how to construct a unique ceremony. With her help, we created a ceremony that was meaningful and representative of our relationship. One of the traits that brought me to Cindy was her bilingualism! Our wedding guests made up a patchwork of English and Spanish speakers. Cindy worked with us to determine which parts of the ceremony should be spoken in both languages and which parts could be left as is. We included a Neruda poem in Spanish and a reading, "Union" by Robert Fulghum, in English. I had been worried that a bilingual ceremony might sound choppy or repetitive, but Cindy integrated the languages seamlessly. It was such a meaningful touch that was appreciated by all our guests. We would absolutely suggest Cindy to anyone who is planning a wedding - especially to those who want a bilingual ceremony!

I hired Cindy for my wedding as we were looking for a spiritual secular ceremony that was all about love. Cindy created a lovely script and gave us a ton of ideas for any changes as well as a great reading. She was also able to add a Jewish element without making it religious. After the ceremony, numerous people were telling us how beautiful it was and how unique it was. We couldn't have been happier!! Also, as a tip, I would suggest paying extra to have her attend your rehearsal. It made a huge difference and we were all prepared the day of the wedding!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received a Bachelor of Arts from The Advertising & Public Relations Program of the Media & Communication Arts Department at City College in 2001. I specialized and excelled in Event Planning. I focused on weddings, since I love seeing people happy and in love. I am a Certified Wedding Planner through the the renowned Bridal Society.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I worked at PR firm doing event planning, but I longed to be surrounded by happiness and love. So a few years ago, when my cousin asked me to help him plan his wedding to his long-time partner, it was kismet. I became ordained and a registered officiant in New York City, as a wedding gift to them. I've been planning and presiding over weddings ever since.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure you sign a contract. I am appalled by how many couples call me last minute because they are unable to get in touch with their officiant in the the weeks leading up to the wedding, or worse a no-show the day of the ceremony.
