I hired the Greycliffe String Quartet for a formal work function. I had no knowledge of classical music and relied on them to select what they thought would be appropriate. It was perfect and sounded great! I would definitely work them again.Mar 1, 2018
My wife and I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Greycliffe. Jessica was great to work with and was quick to answer any questions we had during the planning process. We had a violin/cello duo for our wedding ceremony and they were exactly what we were looking for to make our wedding very special. The music was beautiful and they were very flexible to what we needed. My wife and I could be happier with their performance and service!Oct 28, 2019VerifiedGreycliffe String Quartet's reply
Thank you, Chris! You were such a pleasure to work with that we'd do it again in a heartbeat. We wish you all the best!
Jessica was wonderful. She was accommodating and professional. Guests loved her and we did too! Highly recommend!Oct 31, 2018Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? In general, pricing directly relates to how many players you'd like for your event. String quartet base pricing is $500 for a wedding ceremony, and then we give a discounted rate for any time in addition to that (cocktail hour, dinner, etc.) Event pricing (cocktail parties, work events, fundraisers, other celebrations) come at a base rate of $500 for the first hour and again a discounted hourly rate for each hour after the first. All of these rates already include the Thumbtack fees, travel expenses, music stands, and most sheet music expenses (does not include arrangements we need to write for you, but that's usually discussed when we decide the repertoire together).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? We usually like to know what the event is and what genre(s) of music the client is looking for. We are happy to help decide which pieces are most appropriate for a given event and once the client has made the final decision to go with our group, we work out a contract that includes expectations, venue address, event time, repertoire, and a $50 deposit to hold the date. We're happy to make this process as easy and accessible as possible to those without a lot of musical knowledge!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?We are all university trained and have played in a number of professional settings including with community, university, and professional orchestras; different chamber settings; and as soloists for a number of groups. Our players have also been in master classes with groups such as the Tokyo String Quartet and Buffalo's own JoAnne Faletta.
