Excellent service! He was there when he said he'd be there, he quickly and efficiently cleaned my carpeting, and provided me with an electronic receipt. CleanWay Systems was very professional and I would recommend them to anyone who needs carpet cleaning.

Everything was fantastic except the kitchen floor. It definitely could have used some more elbow grease where the floor meets the baseboard. Also the pantry floor where my garbage can is located did not appear to be cleaned. The bathrooms, carpet (steam cleaning), bedrooms, and dining room all looked great.

I first hired Marianne for a deep cleaning in the summer of 2015. She did a great job "Spring Cleaning" the house which included cleaning all the winter dust and cat hair from corners and behind furniture! The best part was NO residual smell or use of chemicals which my allergies and migraines cannot tolerate. I now use Marianne about once/month to do a "regular" house cleaning and look forward to the day she is here. Marianne is professional, enthusiastic and energetic about her job. She does a thorough job and I highly recommend her!

Steve was at my front door promptly at our scheduled time. Feeling concerned that my carpet was too badly stained to clean he came in and accessed the staining and felt confident he could clean it. He cleaned 2 bedrooms a hallway and draperies on this day. Upon inspection the next day I found that after drying a few of the larger spots were still present. I called Steve and he came right back the very next day and attacked the spots with incredible results. My expensive thick piled carpet looks almost brand new. I never expected to see it so clean I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this man and his carpet cleaning skills. I am thoroughly satisfied with this business, he is prompt, service minded, friendly, hard working and dedicated to his customer.

Chris was quick to respond to my inquiries and he helped us sort things out with the insurance adjuster. He and Eddie did an excellent job repairing the water damage to the ceiling and were thorough to clean up their work areas. We have other work planned and we will be using Fire Water Pros to get that done.

I recently purchased a new house that the previous owners did not take very good care of. I hired Monica (on short notice) to clean the house prior to moving in. She did an outstanding job cleaning the place top-to-bottom! She paid very close attention to detail and I'm considering hiring her to clean my house on a regular basis! I really can't say enough about the amazing job that she did and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a cleaner.

Paul Travis is a true professional who knows his stuff! He helped us in March clean out and re-organize our garage. He then helped us with a home improvement project on the inside. Paul took down the wall between our living room and dining room helping open up our living space. He painted, changed outlets, replaced windows and put in new floors. We love it!!! Paul's work is amazing! Check it out below!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How often should carpets be steam cleaned?

Dirty carpets can be unhealthy for the people living in the home, particularly those who have allergies, so it’s important to have them cleaned regularly; simply vacuuming once or twice a week isn’t enough. Carpet cleaning should be done by a professional carpet cleaning service at least once a year to remove grime and help extend the life of your carpet. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning, which penetrates deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out both dirt and the pollutants that get tracked inside. Steam cleaning also removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry quickly enough for homeowners to resume using them the same day. Between professional carpet cleanings, your carpet may need an emergency spot cleaning. Pet accidents, food or drink spills, and more can often be effectively cleaned with some water and a drop of white vinegar, although many cleaners will also make house calls for smaller spills and hard-to-clean spots like wine or grease stains.

How do you find a good carpet cleaning company?

Regular professional carpet cleaning can both extend the life of your carpet and remove harmful pollutants from your home. Finding a good carpet cleaning company is an important aspect of home maintenance. When choosing a carpet cleaner, consider these top three questions:

  • What method of carpet cleaning do you prefer? Steam cleaning is an increasingly popular method because it’s thorough and safe, and dries quickly enough for you to return to your home the same day the carpets are cleaned.
  • Have you checked the company’s references? Most cities are home to several carpet cleaning companies, so it’s a good idea to check their reviews and references. Look for references from people in your neighborhood with homes similar to yours.
  • What’s included in the base price? What other services does the carpet cleaning company offer? Some companies will move furniture for you, while others charge a fee for it. Some include stairs in the cost of the home’s cleaning, while others charge per step.

What does carpet cleaning cost?

National average carpet cleaning prices range between $100 and $130. Carpet cleaning prices depend on how many square feet of carpet you want cleaned, how many rooms in one house or building will be cleaned, how stained your carpet is, how much the carpet cleaning company charges, your ZIP code, and the type of carpet you have. Cost per square foot can range from 20 cents to $1 or more, based on the above variables. Synthetic carpets are typically the least expensive to clean; natural fibers like wool cost more, as they require more care and attention, as well as more drying time. Excessive stains, challenging locations such as stairs, and accessibility also factor into your carpet cleaning price. Companies may charge a minimum service fee for cleaning a small carpet to cover their business expenses (paying employees, transporting the special equipment to your home). If your pet has repeatedly saturated the carpet with urine or if the fibers are extremely matted down, it may make more sense to completely replace your carpet than to continue to have it cleaned.

How much does it cost to clean a carpet?

Carpet cleaning costs vary depending on the type of cleaning, such as steam cleaning, and whether there are any stains that require special treatment. The main cost factors are the square footage of the carpet and the material it’s made from. The national average carpet cleaning price ranges from $100 to $130 for a typical suburban home, but steam cleaning prices start at an average of $120. In general, professional carpet cleaning ranges from an average of 20 cents to 50 cents per square foot, depending on where you live. Many companies have a minimum fee or room requirement — such as two rooms for an average of $40 each — and will charge more to clean carpeted stairs or a second floor. Finally, the carpet fiber type, density and pile will also affect the cost of cleaning; man-made fibers are stain-resistant and easier to clean, while wool carpeting is sensitive to water and requires more care.

How much does steam cleaning a carpet cost?

Several factors determine the cost of professional carpet cleaning, from the number of rooms in the home to additional carpeted areas to the products used to lift stains. The national average cost to steam clean a carpet ranges from $100 to $130. Most professional carpet cleaning companies’ rates are based on the number of rooms they clean, starting at an average base rate of $30 per room or $55 for two standard rooms and a hallway. Larger rooms may be charged as two rooms or incur a square footage fee. Carpet cleaners often charge by the step to clean a stairway as well as additional fees for closets and hallways; for example, some charge an average of $5 per step. Expect extra fees, starting at an average of $15 per stain, for lifting difficult food, pet or oil stains from carpets. Some carpet cleaning companies offer package deals to also clean furniture and throw rugs while in the home; a chair usually costs an average of $70 to be steam cleaned, and a couch costs an average of $100.
