Anxiety. Depression. Shame. I'd been clean and sober two years and I still felt awful. I called Alison because a friend recommended her. She's great! Accepting. Able to see what's going on with me even before I do. Now I still have bad days and uncomfortable feelings but I don't live with anxiety and depression, and I know how to take care of myself when those feelings come up. I tried therapy before and it didn't work. Maybe I wasn't ready then, or maybe the other therapist isn't as good as Alison. I just know how much better my life is now.

With this being my first time trying Reiki, Jill made my session very comfortable. I wasn't sure what to expect, and I was kinda skeptical about its benefits, but I'm happy to report that I left feeling very relaxed. I was surprised that I was actually able to feel the energy moving in waves throughout my body. My mind has been very clear (less anxiety), and I slept like a baby (less insomnia) since. Larry provided an excellent experience. He walked me through the process, was patient with my questions, and has a very client-focused perspective. I would recommend CORE Remedy's services; after a 1 hour session, I noticed some major shifts in some of my mental blockages. In New York, it is not uncommon for people to have relationship problems resulting in stress and anxiety because of those problems. I needed someone who would understand, and I found Gary Katz Counseling online when my insurance was not giving me the best options out there. It is worth the time and effort to see Gary. He has helped me tremendously, something I never thought a therapist would be able to do but I needed someone to talk to. He made me feel very comfortable, and let me know I was not alone, and every time I get out of a meeting with him I feel more confident in myself and healed just a little bit more. Definitely the best counseling I've been to.

I've been struggling with anxiety and anger issues since teenage years, and have tried therapy in the past but never stuck with it because I always found myself getting impatient with the therapists or the process. However, Dr Eskalyo slowly but efficiently helps me realize the benefits of psychotherapy, by digging deeper into my subconscious mind. She never makes me feel judged, or pressured. Scheduling is flexible, which works with my crazy work schedule. She's also very cooperative and patient with paperworks for my insurance. I highly recommend Dr Eskalyo, especially for those who are skeptical but would like to try therapy.

    The NLP/Hypnosis sessions provided by Charles over the course of several months were a trans-formative experience for me. I suffer from chronic pain and anxiety. Charles drew upon his own life experience, NLP/Hypnosis technique, and an in-depth understanding of my physical and emotional history to tailor each session to my personal needs. Through use of visualization, breathing, and relaxation techniques I was able to enter a trance state which refocused my energy away from the area of my body in pain. I left each session in a healthier relaxed frame of mind and diminished pain. Charles also gave me the tools to practice NLP/Hypnosis techniques on my own in order to cope with what was ailing me at the workplace and home, and when confronted with stressful situations.     I highly recommend working with Stefan Deutsch. Fortunately for me, I met him at a most critical time of my life. I was full of stress, anxiety, and had depressive episodes. I tried other therapies, but they only helped a little. The essence of his work is understanding the science behind loving behaviors and how to give it and get it unconditionally - as it is as vital to life as are air, food and water. I knew that, however, no one explained how to use this idea before. I have worked with Stefan on and off for about 4 years. During that time, I learned to love myself and communicate better with others. I also learned what is loving and unloving behavior and to recognize them in unhealthy relationships in order to take care of myself. His tools for coping with pain have helped me "tame the hurtful dragon" within me. I had many blind spots in my private and professional life as a successful entrepreneur, and never realized them. However, the hours I spent with Stefan helped transform me into a person capable of loving myself and attracting more positive people into my life. It was breaking my old negative patterns both with my company and my relationships by staying out of the past.       Admittedly I was a bit skeptical before trying QHHT, not because I had any doubts about the wonderful woman who would be working on me , Doreen Devore, but because I am a yoga and meditation teacher and very holistic man and have tried seemingly every different treatment modality out there in order to find some semblance of inner peace , get off my own case, and establish increased solitude in my daily existence. I saw Doreen after a break-up of a quite long relationship and was still in the grieving phase. I am by nature inherently anxious, and thus am prescribed beta-blockers to keep my adrenalin from rising too often and Valium for panic-attacks. I also suffered from intermittent back pain as a result of a lumbar disc herniation over four years ago that still affected my alignment and had a negative impact on the quality and duration of my sleep. I regularly frequented chiropractors, acupuncturists, massage therapists, my shrink , Reiki healers and even know a couple of shamans who specialize in soul retrieval and do a lot of chanting and drumming in their healing sessions. None of this could have prepared me for the eye-opening, cathartic, trippy experience Doreen was about to guide me through. In advance I wrote down a clear list of questions I would like answered and Doreen told me she would do her best to commune with whatever powers that be to seek out the answers. I remember the session vaguely, but was in an almost trance-like state as Doreen took me back and spoke to me in past incarnations or lives and even looked ahead to my future , telling me that many of my goals would eventually be attained and how it would occur. She told me things about my life nobody had any business knowing or had been told before. She asked the higher-ups to lessen the pain in my back and my anxiety inducing OCD symptoms. Upon the cessation of our evening session I left in a blissful state , feeling very floaty yet contemplative , yet also revitalized. My ex-girlfriend no longer harbored any place in the forefront of my consciousness, my posture seemingly improved and my back pain diminished substantially and I slept like a baby all after night one. Since then I have been a more keen observer of opportunity in my life and have gotten four new yoga teaching jobs since I saw her less than one month ago. Furthermore, my moods are more stable as I'm less anxious, have decreased the dose of my beta-blockers and now just keep the Valium in my medicine cabinet in case of emergency. My yoga practice, sex life, day-to-day level of happiness and optimism regarding the future have all experienced a dramatic shift for the better. I can not explain the efficacy of this experience to enough people and all it required was a single session in Doreen's comforting hands. She is truly an expert at QHHT and someone I would highly recommend to friends and family alike. Thank you Doreen for helping me get many of the things that were ailing me in life back in order.       What is a psychologist?

      A psychologist is a professionally trained mental health professional who helps patients navigate challenging life situations or mental health issues. To become a psychologist you must earn a doctoral degree; qualifying degrees include a Ph.D., Psy.D. or Ed.D. To actively practice, a psychologist must be licensed in their state and maintain good standing. Psychologists are trained to administer tests that can evaluate a patient’s cognitive strength and weaknesses, intellectual skills, vocational aptitude and preference, personality characteristics, and neuropsychological functioning, explains the American Psychological Association (APA).

      A psychologist meets with patients in an office and may work with a variety of methods, depending on patient need, such as cognitive, behavioral or interpersonal.  According to the APA, common reasons a person may visit a psychologist include:

      • Dealing with depression, anger or anxiety over a long period of time.
      • Help with a chronic condition that is interfering with their lives or physical health.
      • Help with grieving and other abrupt transitions.
      • Overcoming addictions.
      • Managing chronic illness.

      Can a clinical psychologist write prescriptions?

      To be able to write a prescription, a clinical psychologist must practice in a state that permits them to do so, and must either have a master’s degree in psychopharmacology or have completed the required advanced training program. According to the American Psychological Association (APA), five states currently permit psychologists to write prescriptions: Idaho, New Mexico, Illinois, Iowa and Louisiana. Many psychologists who are not able to write prescriptions work in partnership with psychiatrists, pediatricians or primary care doctors to help their patients who need medication.

      How much do therapists cost?

      If you are experiencing a challenging time, have mental health difficulties, or just want professional guidance as you move through life, a therapist can provide relief, tools and structure. The national average cost for a therapist is $80-$100 per hour, although prices may be higher or lower depending on geographic location and the experience and training of the therapist.

      Psychiatrists, psychologists and licensed therapists are all health professionals who offer various modalities of therapy. Ask questions about the type of therapy they specialize in (such as cognitive or behavioral, etc.) and their area of expertise (such as grief, anxiety, body image disorders, etc.) to help you find the right fit for your needs. Therapy sessions are typically 50-60 minutes long.  The patient usually meets with the therapist in their office; sessions may also be held remotely (via Skype, etc.) or in a clinical setting. Psychologists, psychiatrists and other therapists who have earned advanced degrees will typically charge higher rates than other licensed therapists. Depending on your diagnosis, your health insurance may cover your therapy costs.
