We hired Laura for day of coordination and decor services for our wedding this past August. We booked a venue that basically only came with tables and chairs, and we knew we would need a coordinator to help put all the pieces together. Laura worked with our vendors to put together a clear and thorough timeline of the day. She also organized all the logistical details from the processional to the reception announcements to the dinner service... and everything in between. I did not have to worry about a single thing at my wedding because Laura was always a step ahead and making sure everything was taken care of. She also sorted out the mess that was my DIY wedding decorations and managed to put it all together with a clear vision. She handled all the flowers and decor for the ceremony and reception, and everything came out truly beautiful. It was exactly what I wanted. I can't thank Laura (and her sister Kelly!) enough.

I started out on the wedding planning process on my own. Towards the end, I started getting so confused and had no idea what was appropriate, what went well together, and how to make decisions. I reached out to Thumbtack for a wedding planner and what a blessing that has been! I immediately clicked with Laura by phone and when we met for coffee, I knew she was the guidance and help I needed. She picked right up and jumped in, learning about us, my personal style, and was a lifesaver. She was available throughout the process for any questions, big or small. She and Kelly are both professional and they know how to get the job done. When meeting with vendors or at the Rehearsal, they would look at my face and know immediately what I preferred. The wedding day went so smoothly. It was all actually a blur of activity going on around me, but I was so calm and relaxed the whole day and I owe it to the trust I placed in Elegant Events by Laura. She coordinated with the photographer for pictures so it went so quickly that we had time to relax and spare before the ceremony and before the reception. She made sure that we ate at the reception and that we had everything we needed. The bridesmaids and I started calling them the planning ninjas. They were everywhere all at once. For example, two of my bridesmaids started walking with me to the bathroom and we turned around and Laura was right there! haha! Elegant Events was worth every penny and my only advice to couples planning a wedding is to hire a planner and if you want the best, work with Laura and Kelly! My only regret is that I didn't reach out to have her plan from scratch! A million stars for them.

My husband and I got married in late October at a restaurant in Brooklyn. I knew the restaurant threw great events but I also knew I had a very specific idea of the look and feel I wanted to create – and that I’d need some help bringing it to life. I hired Laura and Kelly for day of coordination and they were the absolute perfect team to make it happen. For the month leading up to the event Laura was there to bounce ideas off of, offer advice, help ease my mind about pressing questions and concerns and be a strategic partner in mapping out the flow and schedule for the event. When we met, she instantly got my vision for the aesthetic and feel I was going for, and did everything she could to make it happen, without being the slightest bit overbearing but also offering a solid opinion on things that may not work or decisions that might cause more stress than necessary. This was so key in helping me make important decisions and maintain sanity during the stressful month leading up to the big event. From one meeting with Laura, I knew I could trust her taste and she was beyond patient as I sent her examples of lights, candles and flowers for weeks before the wedding to get her thoughts. I already had a flower vendor (who I loved!) booked by the time Laura and I started working together, but I know she does gorgeous arrangements and has impeccable, elegant attention to detail – so would also highly recommend booking her for florals. The day of our wedding, she went above and beyond to create some additional floral arrangements for the bars and tables in the restaurant when we realized we may need some extra and they were beautiful. Our wedding day was rainy and windy beyond belief but Laura and Kelly worked seamlessly with our amazing contacts at the restaurant (Bacchus) to make last minute décor adjustments – I know the day was very stressful for them but I didn’t get one single email or text from Laura with questions or concerns, her and Kelly handled everything like pros and let me enjoy the day getting ready and toasting with friends and family. By the time we arrive there in the early evening for pictures, the venue looked stunning and my husband and I were able to relax and have a glass of champagne while we waited for the festivities to start. From helping with dress adjustments, driving us to the venue for pictures, and making sure the entire evening flowed seamlessly – Laura and Kelly helped make our wedding day a spectacular one that was everything we’d hoped for. I plan events often for work and have worked with lots of crazily talented people, Laura and Kelly are fabulous and I simply can’t recommend them enough!

I was a theatre major and used to direct shows all the time. Planning an event is like directing a one day show.
