FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is $55/hour for most areas of Manhattan. Further away, I've charged as much as $65/hr which is still low for one-on-one dog training. (My rates are lower than most b/c, in spite of a couple hundred hours of experience, I am not yet certified. It's expensive, and I'm working toward it.)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We chat on the phone about you and your dog. This will usually give me a sense of the issue. We meet for a session which will usually begin outside the home (a meet & greet outside the home usually allows the dog to get more comfortable) and, depending on the problem, will usually bring the lesson back home for details on techniques, approach, and such. 1st sessions are usually two hours.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied natural dog training techniques and positive reinforcement techniques. I receive trade magazines to keep up on new trends and, with each new client, I look up the breed of their dog to ensure I understand that breed's instincts before meeting (and to see if there have been new developments or information about that breed).
