My name is Vincent Cota and I am a cinematographer based in New York, NY. I provide freelance cinematography services for short and feature films, music videos, and live performances. I also produce commercial, documentary, and branded content.
Moving, long-lasting images are at the heart of everything I do.
I studied 35mm cinematography at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. In 2016 I was awarded “Outstanding Presentation of Thailand, Royal Coast Cluster” at the Thailand International Film Destination Festival.
Aside from my freelance experience, I have worked at the East Valley Tribune as a photographer and videographer and at the rental house Lighthouse Films. I hold a Film and Television, BFA from NYU Tisch where I also worked as a technical assistant and studio recording engineer.

When Vincent Cota showed up for the video shoot,he was professional all the way.Even when some of the band member`s delayed the shoot by doing others things before the shoot was to begin,Vincent had no problems with the delay and he never skipped a beat.Vincent was calm,cool and professional at all times.When the shoot got going,Vincent worked well with each member of the band,making sure that all member`s were happy with what he was doing.I would recommend Vincent Cota for all of your Video and Photo/Editing needs.He is a class act in every sense of the word.

I cannot express enough how extremely happy we are with the services that Vincent Cota provided. First let me say how I was reluctant with hiring someone that did not come recommended let alone through a website as this BUT after several emails back and forth and discussing what I was looking for, Vincent truly stepped up to the plate. The video was to capture the special moments at my daughters Sweet 16, add professional pictures throughout and add music as well. The completed video was beyond my expectation!! Great job from the first encounter, very professional, polite and respectful, to the end result with the presentation, detail and importantly, he LISTENED to what I wanted to accomplish and he delivered!! I include my current rates in each of my quotes. I charge a daily rate for both shooting and editing.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After discussing the details of each shoot through Thumbtack (including date, price, and vision), I talk with each new customer about how we can maximize the quality of their content to produce a truly meaningful end product. This artistic dedication alongside the technical process is what will make you fall in love with your product over and over again.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied Film and Television with a concentration in cinematography at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. As one of the world's most highly regarded film schools, it merges the technical training of a professional school with the academic resources of a major research university.
