Guitar Lessons with Syberen van Munster

Greetings! I teach guitar lessons with patience, enthusiasm, and a sense of wit, and have been doing so for the past 9 years. I teach and perform all levels and styles of music, and have helped a wide variety of students with learning to play from scratch, learning how to write songs, improving technique, you name it. My main interest personally is jazz music so if you're looking to veer in that direction I would humbly like to recommend myself. Lessons can take place either at my place in Hamilton Heights, or at your place anywhere in the city. As for my credentials: I graduated from the Conservatory of Amsterdam and then got my Master’s Degree from the Aaron Copland School of Music, both in Jazz Performance, both with honors. Since moving to New York in 2009 I’ve been fortunate enough to play at venues such as Smoke Jazz Club, the Kennedy Center, and the Blue Note. Additionally I perform pop/rock/motown music with a cover band. Last year I became a semi-finalist at the Montreux Jazz Guitar competition. I also released my debut album a few months ago, for which I composed all the music.
