I have over 30 years of experience in healthcare having worked with Internists, Midwives, Gynecologists, Obstetricians and Infectious Disease specialists. My extensive experience working with people whose lifestyles have left them unhealthy has led me to the realization that we can often heal ourselves and that taking a pill for every ailment is not necessarily the best cure. As an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach I will help you take small simple steps which will guide you to becoming happier and healthier. My approach to wellness is a holistic one which means we will not simply look at your diet but at all the many aspects of your life. I love working with my clients and enabling them to become healthier and happier. Watching them make gradual changes which accumulate and result in improved health and wellness is enormously gratifying.

Laura is a great health coach! She worked with me on my diet as she knows a ton about nutrition and is good at motivating people to make the changes they need to make, but she is also very knowledgeable in other lifestyle issues. She helped me to see that it's not only about my diet, it's also about my day to day life! Working with her has me healthier and more fit and my life less stressful. I am still seeing her and actually look forward to our sessions as she is thoughtful and engaged in whatever we are discussing and always has great suggestions. She also practices the diet and lifestyle changes she encourages. I am so thankful to her and I recommend her highly!

Normally, I would never pay for a nutritionist. But I know Laura through my doctor, and I really trust her. The results have been nothing short of astounding. I lost 8 pounds in about 10 weeks and am the lowest weight I have been in well over a decade. And I haven't counted calories. I've simply followed her rules for sensible, healthy eating. I suppose I knew these guidelines before, but having Laura's support makes all the difference. She is extremely responsive to questions, including ones as silly as "what should I do with summer squash noodles?" She also believes in a holistic approach to healthy eating. This means meditation and figuring out how to cope with stress and looking at how happy you are in other areas of your life. While I would generally find such an approach annoying, Laura has a sense of humor about it and provides me with the scientific rationale behind her approach (for example, meditation lowers hormones levels that make us gain weight). In short, Laura is fantastic.

Laura enabled me to understand where my nutritional failings really lay - for example: my expectations that "sugarless" foods were better for me which included avoiding sugarless sodas. The benefits of chicken & fish vs. red meats including pork. Snacking on raw nuts being so much healthier than salted nuts. Resisting sugared candies and replacing them with natural sugars from fruits. Avoiding dried fruit. All of this translated into a new baseline weight 20 pounds less than what it had been.
