FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I continue studying and performing so that I never lose touch with all the challenges my students are facing. All of us are learning new pieces, facing the demands of getting in front of an audience, and working to expand our skills.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was fortunate to have wonderful, inspiring teachers. Most notable were my teacher in Paris, Nicole Henriot-Schweitzer, and my teacher in New York, Seymour Bernstein. They showed me how being personally invested in a student's progress gave the student the confidence to tackle challenges. I couldn't have overcome my own musical challenges without their support and guidance. I try every day to give my own students the same encouragement while providing them with the tools they'll need.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Families who bring their children to me for lessons care deeply about music and about giving their children the best introduction possible. They know I'll take the students through every step necessary to have music be a part of their lives forever. Adult students know I'll work patiently and diligently to help them through the challenging steps so they can find the joy of making music.
