FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It's not very complicated, but most services are customized. I sometimes charge an hourly fee plus the cost of groceries, and sometimes it's a flat fee that I estimate based on the needs of your event: Number of people, travel, menu, etc. Please call and we'll discuss pricing based on your event or service. * A note about the travel fee: I charge $35/hr plus cost of the train ticket for travel outside Manhattan. I often cook for clients in Long Island for special dinner parties.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Experience, training and pedigree matter, but most important for a personal chef service is being comfortable with the chef. Call the chef up and talk to them, have them know what you're looking for and what matters to you in your event, or how you'd like your family to be fed. Having a good rapport is the most important aspect!
