About
With a passion for all things related to food, I believe that there are so many components to a great meal. As a result, I take great pride in what goes into the preparation of each dish that I make. Whether it be breakfast for one or a three-course dinner for four, I can guarantee that even the slightest details have been taken into consideration. Growing up in a household full of many talents, it was hard to choose just one skill to become passionate about. With time, I discovered a true love for all things related to cooking -- how the taste and texture of a tomato sauce changes the longer it reduces or how leavening agents react to lighten and soften various baked goods. I have learned that the slightest misstep or miscalculation can result in an utter catastrophe, but great attention to detail and even the slightest tweak of a recipe can result in something absolutely amazing. With that said, I love that I can bring some of that attention to detail to my clients through my cooking.

I hired Alex for my daytime Baby Shower brunch on 10/15/16. She was outstanding. After several rounds of collaboration on the menu we landed on sweet and savory options that were delicious. BBQ pulled pork, French toast with marscapone and berries to name a few. My guests loved every dish that came out of the kitchen and Alex was sure to keep serving trays full at all times. I was lucky enough to bring home leftovers as well!!! She's amazing, her food is delicious and I'd love to hire her for another event or just life in general!

Alex was a total pleasure to work with. Her menu ideas for our post-wedding brunch were creative, and her food was both delicious and beautifully presented. She was extremely reliable about returning phone calls and emails and was willing to take on any additional organizational responsibilities to make my job simpler so I could be a guest at the brunch. At the last minute I asked Alex if she could do favors for the wedding the night before the brunch. She immediately said "yes", suggested a number of interesting options, and executed and delivered them promptly. Alex is a gem. I would employ her again without hesitation.

I hosted 13 people at my place and hired Alex to prepare canapes and a light dinner suitable for guests who were lounging about rather than a formal sit down. The whole process was really enjoyable and I'd totally recommend Alex. When we were planning, Alex asked questions, made great suggestions and I felt like the final menu came out exactly as I had hoped but with more depth and elegance. She was amenable, consultative and a calm energy throughout (even through my pre-party stress). It was the first time i've hired a personal chef and she walked me through the whole thing. She prepared beautiful filo cups with Warm Pea Crostini with Herbs & Greek Yogurt, Cod Medallions with Sesame, Lime, and Chili Oil, and Pan-Roasted Romanesco Cauliflower with Golden Raisins, Tahini, and Sumac. For the main, I had prepared a brisket which she finished up, and she made a lovely Farro Salad and Potato Stacks. Guests enjoyed everything (esp the Cod Medallions!). She was also able to adapt many of the dishes to accommodate a vegan guest (bonus!). The timing of the dishes worked well and but for the potato stacks which were a bit overcooked (I blame my oven which doesn't have a dial indicating temp), the dishes came out really nicely. As a host, the best part was knowing I could enjoy my own party after watching her ably navigate my kitchen and deliver delicious meals. Alex was discrete and warm with guests, answering any questions folks had. Totally recommend her.

I hired Chef Alex for a simple, private dinner at my new apartment. She was flexible, easy to coordinate with and the dining experience was really fantastic! I had specified a vegetarian meal for my 8 friends and it was just perfect. Would highly recommend and will definitely be hiring again, hopefully soon.
