Hi, name is Floris Boere and I am a Steinway endorsed teacher. I write songs, play in two bands in the city and compose minimalist piano music as well as contemporary jazz. Education: - Masters of Music in Jazz Piano (NYU) - Bachelor of Music in Jazz & Pop (Utrecht Conservatory) - Studied extensively with piano masters Jean-Michel Pilc and Bert van den Brink Experience: - Adjunct Faculty professor (NYU) - Music Specialist (Marte Valle High School) - 11 years private piano teacher. I play and teach every style except classical. I accept any student, whether they are a total beginner or at college level musically. My specialty is learning by ear and improvisation and I recommend making it a focus in our lessons, because it's fun! I am very flexible in scheduling and do not require a weekly or bi-weekly commitment, but I do recommend a regular schedule as it increases your progress substantially.
