Thank you for the very nice review. Stephen Mortech Computers
Steph was amazing. He went above and beyond to help fix my macbook and even educate me throughout the process. Within 2 minutes he knew what was going on and how to resolve the issue and honestly answered any of my concerns throughout. Would highly recommend Stephen and hire him for all of my computer repair needs!Apr 26, 2018VerifiedMorTech Remote Computer & Network Support's reply
Stephan was able to solve a very complex and confusing set of problems that had crippled my computer because of outside meddling with it by an online "repair" company. He worked his way through each issue, expertly and patiently. He is a real treasure! I feel so glad to have found someone so brilliant (and personable) to be able to call upon in the future for any of my computer needs.Feb 28, 2018VerifiedMorTech Remote Computer & Network Support's reply
Unprofessional. Stephen promised repair of the machine within hours; then updated it to a "day." Later, he advised we not repair it because it would be costly. I approved repair at a given price, and he promised return of the machine within a day or two. He eventually provided an update and said it would be delayed. He repeatedly promised it would be returned but did not return it. He did not contact my fiancee to deliver the computer, despite having his number. 5 days expired. I called and he told me he was busy and would call right back. He never did. Later, he claimed that he had lost his phone but the machine would be returned. Another day passed; he did not return it. The next day, I left a message and told him the machine must be returned. He called back, enraged, to say no one had ever spoken to him that way and he would not tolerate being spoken to that way. He claimed that he called my fiancee's phone repeatedly to schedule drop-off. When my fiancee got a hold of him, he suddenly (8 days after possession of the machine) claimed that the machine could not be repaired and had to go to the manufacturer. He promised to return it between 6-7pm that night. My fiancee waited in vain. Stephen then mailed thru Thumbtack to claim that he was never leaving the house on a Sunday to deliver. AVOID this individual.Jul 16, 2018VerifiedMorTech Remote Computer & Network Support's reply
This client abruptly left town for an extended period time in the middle of my evaluating the repair of her computer, and asked me to the return the computer to her “boyfriend”. I tried to contact her “boyfriend” on several occasions while she was out of town and got no reply. Upon her returning she sent at least 15 intimidating and threatening emails/texts about the return of her computer. I tried to explain to her that I tried to contact her boyfriend and I got no response over several days. I hope anybody reading this incendiary review will notice that every review that I have received before this and the numerous reviews that I have received since then all contradict EVERYTHING this client had to say.
PC Computer Repair
I was lucky to connect with Stephen Morton when my Windows system "melted down," and I completely lost access to my computer. He immediately knew what was wrong and how to repair it. Stephen is an experienced professional who knows what he's doing. He was polite and patient, and spent the time required to get my system and programs back into action; save backed up files, and reinstall critical applications. He is a pleasure to work with. He is also not a clock-watcher, and has continued to help me on some outstanding issues that needed more attention after he visited my home. I'm a marketing and business writer who depends on my computer for my livelihood. Now I feel I have a relationship with an expert whom I can call on when I need to.Dec 20, 2016Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? All prices quoted through Thumbtack are estimates until a technician can be on site to evaluate the job in question. Most estimates are pretty close because MorTech Computers has done many jobs in many different areas through Thumbtack so you can use the estimated price as a pretty good ballpark figure on how much you will be charged.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?A proper introduction is always important. Then a short discussion over the phone to find out exactly what the "problem" is. Then what parts will be needed if any so we can bring them with us on site. This usually limits to a single visit for the equipment repair. Contact information such as email address telephone number address are always important.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Trained by IBM in LAN and WAN networking, PC repair. and Data Recovery. We also repair all Mac computers
