Namzi is an excellent tutor- he's tutoring my 15 year old son to get a head start on geometry this summer. He's knowledgeable, patient, and thorough. My son's comment, after his first lesson with Namzi was- "he explains really well". He also seems to work well with my son, who's usually quiet and shy to open his mouth. Namzi was able to draw out answers from him and made him comfortable to interact with him during their first session.

After taking my first SAT, I felt that I could do better on the reading section and the essay. Justus helped me exceed my expectations - my reading score improved from a 690 to an 800 on my second attempt and my essay score from an 8 to a 10! His thorough and methodical approach, as well as the extensive practice he gave me, enabled me to achieve my goal. I strongly recommend him to anyone seeking SAT tutoring!

By enlarge, we are extreme happy with the tutoring service they provided. Specifically Ms Chua, who is the only tutor we have dealt with. She is knowledgeable, responsible and encouraging. She is flexible and alters her approach based on either the topic at hand or our teen boy's emotions as relates to the work. We couldn't be happier with her. I would give them 5 stars except the app can be buggy and drop the audio or can be slow sending data. On the other hand, the logistics of tutoring online is very convenient, saving a lot of commuting time.

Mr. Treadway was my SAT tutor during the summer of 2014. He has a top notch work ethic and understands what it means to be a teacher in regard to the fact that he actually teaches (I know shocker). He has a way of making learning interesting even on a hot friday evening in summer when you would rather be reading a compelling sherlock novel or mindlessly browsing the internet. He is the type of teacher that sets new trends and offers congratulatory apple wedges. Going into his class, I presumed that there was nothing I would learn from him but due to his help I have started to notice flaws in my writings and in those of others that I never realized before. I am truly grateful to him for not only teaching my new tricks of how to approach the SAT logically and reasonably but also for teaching me how to psychologically prepare myself for something as significant as the SAT. He is definitely an admirable instructor who deserves your full respect and attention. If you are keen on bettering yourself as a student then you should definitely contact Mr. Treadway.

I've been an educator for the past 35 years, and will confidently share that Ben Brady was a phenomenal SAT tutor for my son, Josh. Josh had previously completed two comprehensive SAT test prep courses with nationally known companies, and his test scores rose around 80 points from the PSAT to the SAT. Ben's test prep plan for Josh was pure genius and innovative. He said, "lets review Joshua's test results to learn those specific areas where he lost the most points, and tackle those areas with specialized, individualized test prep." As a result of Ben's work with Josh, his scores climbed 230 points. Ben is an amazing teacher who goes right to the heart of the area/s needing the most work, designing a program enabling the student to excel in those areas the next time around. Today, Josh is sitting on 1430 scores, likely placing him in a position of being competitive at every college to which he's applying. So, if you live in the NYC area, this is a complete and total no-brainer. For $150 an hour, in Ben Brady you are getting someone worth $500 an hour, or more. Plus, Ben's an incredibly nice guy. So, if you are looking for a great test prep professional for yourself, or your child, in the NYC area, Ben's the guy. Hands down. I could not recommend him any more highly John Hoffman NYC, NY

My name is Murat. I have a degree in mathematics from Cornell and a score of 1570 form the old SAT. I also have a score of 800 on the GRE math and a score of 670 on the GRE verbal section. I have a lot of experience teaching many different subjects, and I am a very patient teacher. I love explaining concepts and trying to get students to really understand math topics, rather than just trying to get people to memorize shortcuts. My clients range from elementary school students trying to understand basic concepts to high school students struggling with algebra or the SAT. Whatever the level of the student, I love helping them really understand the concepts involved at a deeper level and getting them to actually enjoy math.

Rachel has been tutoring my two sons (aged 12 and 10) since we arrived from Australia in February. In a short space of time she has ensured the boys are performing at a high level, challenges them each week and has instilled great confidence in themselves. Rachel is polite, friendly, professional, extremely punctual and just a lovely person. The boys look forward to their sessions which says a lot! We would highly recommend Rachel for maths students of all levels and abilities.

About

Seamus worked with my daughter last fall during the very stressful college application process. The task of writing the critically important Common Application essay, as well as the supplemental essays required by each college, seemed overwhelming. Over the course of two months Seamus guided, calmed, and helped her to shape numerous essays. He assisted her in developing meaningful ideas and finding her voice, which led to beautiful and honest writing. Seamus spent unpaid hours editing her work, bringing revisions to their subsequent tutoring sessions. He understands exactly what the schools are looking for in the essay submissions and he is able to ensure that the writing meets those expectations. Most importantly, Seamus is a patient, humorous, and kind person who is able to build close relationships with adolescents, allowing them to shine even in the most stressful of circumstances. My daughter will be attending Middlebury College next fall and I believe that the essays were pivotal in her admission.

I began working with Adam just a couple months before my ACT exam. Given only a short period of time to prepare, Adam worked with me on an individual basis to put me on a fast-track to reach my potential scores. He connected me with a couple other of his tutors who worked with me in-person and via Skype. Adam provided me with strategies and tricks that I could not find anywhere else. Over the course of those two months he significantly improved my weaknesses. By the time test day came, I felt confident and well prepared. My composite score improved by 4 points. With Adam's help, now my chances of getting into my first-choice colleges are much higher. H

Karen is a true professional! Even though we ended up not being able to coordinate ISEE tutoring for my daughter due to the 6 hour time difference between the US and Switzerland, Karen consulted with me and provided invaluable resources and insights.Karen knows the ins and outs of these exams like the back of her hand, and has many more strategies to recommend than your average tutor. In addition, she has a velvet touch communication style that works to calm and focus not only the student, but also the anxious parent! When we have to apply for high school and/or college, I will definitely hire her! Thanks, Karen!

He recommended two SAT Prep books that we are going to order so that she can work on lessons at home in between the times that she meets with him. We are looking forward to the next meeting and working with him!

This is because parents naturally provide basic needs for their children and should leave their academics to professionals who will meet specific needs of the child at a different level. "70% of academic excellence is outside the classroom," and that is why I am here to make the impossible a possibility through friendship.

About

I received my MFA from Columbia University and was a college professor for ten years, teaching grammar, English literature, composition and critical thinking. My specialty was teaching how to write for standardized tests, and my score improvements for my students were always top-notch. Teaching was always a joy for me, from my very first day in the classroom. And then I discovered that my greatest passion as a teacher is test preparation. I've written my own manual, "Secrets from the Vault of an SAT Geek" to help my students achieve improvements of up to 800 points. (Yes, really! Not typical, but it has happened.) More typically, I see improvements of around 300 points. I prepare students for all kinds of standardized tests, from the SAT to the GRE to the LSAT. I offer classes and private sessions. I have an office in the heart of Park Slope, near the 7th Avenue F Train. Please contact me, and let's discuss ways that I might be able to help your child improve her or his score with!
