Introduction: PLEASE NOTE MY RATE. Serious inquiries only, please: ~Test prep: **$150/hr** ~College prep: **$225/hr** Hello! I am an experienced and highly trained private professional tutor of 8 years, specializing in all sections of the SAT, ACT, and College Admissions Prep. I am a Princeton graduate where I was an English major. I myself scored a 2350 out of 2400 on my SAT: 800 Reading, 800 Writing, 750 Math. LOGISTICS: I am based in Manhattan and I have been tutoring exclusively remotely, and across the world, for 3 years. I use Facetime, Zoom or Skype. I am flexible as I tutor all 7 days a week. I provide all of the necessary materials. PAYMENT: -I charge $150/hr for test prep. (Discounted from $200/hr) -I charge $225/hr for college admissions prep. (Discounted from $275/hr) *Because of these challenging times with COVID, I am pleased to offer these discounts.* Test Prep sessions are the standard 90 minutes and are prorated. One HIGHLIGHT of my test prep: I pride myself on having a lengthy list of important tricks and strategies that you are highly unlikely to find elsewhere as I have developed most of them myself. In fact, it is not uncommon that my students' scores improve an equivalent of 80-110 points on the SAT/3-4 points on the ACT after just ONE session. ADMISSION RESULTS: with my test prep and college admission prep, I am thrilled to have helped over 400 students over the years who have gained admission to top schools like Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Northwestern, UMichigan, Dartmouth, Amherst, Carnegie Mellon, Cornell, UPenn, and Tufts among likely every college (across ALL tiers) that you have heard of. I stand by my work 100% and look forward to impressing my clients. I hope to help and discuss further!

Our daughter had one goal... get into the University of Florida! That was her dream school since she was 12. She toured the school two years ago as a sophomore in HS and learned everything she would need to have a chance. First, take all AP courses, maintain a 4.0 or higher, complete at least 3 college classes, more is better, and last but not least, achieve a 1300 SAT score or higher. At this point, she was only enrolled in one AP course but she changed all her classes to AP classes and enrolled in 1-2 summer classes at the local college. Then she took her first SAT test.. 1080! That's when we turned to Thumbtack and found Caroline. We read her reviews and chatted back and fourth. She answered all of our questions and made us feel completely at ease about her style, qualifications and the process... as Caroline explained, there is a process and she was right! Then she met our daughter and started tutoring her. 2-3 sessions later and our daughter's SAT score jumped 100 points which is exactly what Caroline said can happen just by understanding the test and how to take it. Then the pandemic hit and they canceled SAT testing. My daughter kept practicing what she learned and we had 1-2 more sessions before her final test. Our daughter's final score... 1280! 200 points higher then we started with just 3-4 sessions. Without the pandemic and few more sessions, I know she would have been in the 1300's. At the end of the day, with her grades, AP Tests, the 1280 score and her college credits she got in! With only a 36% acceptance rate, this was a huge accomplishment for her. There is no way she could have done it without Caroline! She was the final piece we needed to make it all happen. She also got into Florida State University (her second choice) and NC State honors program(her third choice) as well as a few other fall back schools. Needless to say, we highly recommend Caroline! You won't regret it! Go Gators!!!

Caroline worked with my son weekly to prepare for his ACT. She was so knowledgeable about skills and strategies needed to do well. She was patient and knew which topics to focus on most. The grammar and mechanics he learned will stay with him through college and life. I would definitely recommend Caroline to family and friends.

College Admissions Counseling

Caroline was great in helping my daughter break down ideas and focus on a college essay topic. Her ability to assist my daughter in writing about a topic that was authentic helped secure several college acceptances.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

-I charge $150/hr for test prep. (Discounted from $200/hr) -I charge $225/hr for college admissions prep. (Discounted from $275/hr) *Because of these challenging times with COVID, I am pleased to offer these discounts.*

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

For College Admissions Prep, please contact me for detailed information. Standardized Test Process: I like to look through the student's past tests and scores (if they have any) to evaluate strengths and weaknesses and gauge improvement potential. I discuss the major test strategies and make sure the student starts to employ any she's not utilizing already. I assign practice tests for weekly homework and go over the incorrect problems in the following session. I have my students cut out the problems they get wrong and paste them in a spiral notebook so they have a central place to study--my students love this tactic and it helps them get great results.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Every single type, including those with learning differences, ASD, and IEPs; I tailor their prep to suit their individual needs.
