Originally from South Korea, I hold a bachelor's and a master’s degree from The Juilliard School, and am currently a doctoral candidate at Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts, majoring in violin performance. I am also faculty at Opus 118 Harlem School of Music and Noel Pointer Foundation, where I am privately teaching 20 kids (ages 5-17).

Katherine is the best! I've had years of private instruction with a number of solid teachers, but they all pale in comparison to Katherine. Her talent and passion encourage me to do what I'd otherwise think was impossible. I learn so much about music at every lesson - from honing in on fundamentals and technique, to music theory to musicality and artistry and even how to effectively practice. She has my highest recommendation for violinists playing at any level.
