Introduction: Hello! I'm Melissa Folzenlogen, a New York City musician, producer, and recording studio manager with 22 years of musical education, training, and experience, and 10 years of teaching experience. I play every style of music, from classical/jazz and folk tunes, to pop/rock/hip hop, and my studio produces all genres as well!
I've studied at Hunter College, Mannes, Manhattan School of Music, ISO, and Fiorello H. Laguardia High School. Throughout my years in New York, I've been fortunate enough to play at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, BB Kings, the Highline Ballroom, and other famous venues. This year I played violin for Fat Joe, Ezra Miller, and several platinum certified producers, including Semi (Desiigner - ‘Panda’) and Sean Gill (of multiplatinum group ‘The Passengerz’). I can play solo violin unnacompanied, or with some backing tracks, or as a violin/guitar duo. I’ve played hundreds of weddings, parties, events, proposals, and ceremonies; when you work with me, simply tell me what you need, and consider it done.
My recording studio ‘Nightlife Productions’ in midtown Manhattan has multiple platinum records, our studio’s midtown location, combined with the isolated building, experienced production team, and affordable rates are unbeatable. We’d be happy to give you a complimentary walkthrough!
In addition to performing violin and record production, I work with students of all ages and musical styles. I can teach the Suzuki Method (and my own method), as well as music theory, ear training, vocal coaching, songwriting, and beginner piano and guitar, all comfortably and at your own pace in a style that works for you! I pride myself on crafting a unique curriculum for every personality type, learning type and goal, so if you’ve ever wanted to study music but were scared to start because you weren’t sure you could do it, please allow me the chance to show you that you *absolutely* can!! I believe everyone can make music, and it’s been my pleasure for the last decade to continually help others to find themselves in it.
Whatever you need, I'll always do my best to accommodate you.
