Introduction: I learned from my father, who was the vocal coach of the greatest singers of the 1920's and 1930's: Gigli, De Angelis, Franci, Ruffo. I am perhaps the last teacher of "l'accento", operatic technique using the proper declamation of the Italian language.
I can teach singers to phrase like the greatest opera singers of the past. Beautiful singing does not change according to the year. Proper technique remains the same.

Marcello Garofalo is unheralded, yet authentic, genius of the virtually lost art of Italian operatic declamation, an individual who justifiably should be associated with the world's leading opera houses. I have prepared all my roles with him since at least 2001, and can say, without prejudice, that he has transformed my performances into those of an instinctual Italian operatic tenor. I cannot recommend him too highly ... He is the real deal.
