Introduction: Hi, I'm Caroline Joseph. HEALTH COACHING IS MY PURPOSE. YOGA AND MOVEMENT ARE MY MEDICINE. I’m a triple certified holistic and integrative nutrition, health, and wellness coach and a certified yoga instructor living in beautifully chaotic New York City with my dog, Finn. Here are some of the things I realized through the process of healing myself holistically from an autoimmune condition and working with my clients: - Customization: There is no one-size-fits-all approach to eating, health conditions, and wellness. - Accountability: Sometimes we know what we should be doing, but we're just not doing it. (Work stress! Family priorities! Not enough hours in the day!) - Information Overload: There is so much information out there that can be overwhelming and conflicting it can be confusing knowing where to start or what's true. - Holistic Approach: Health is holistic and all-encompassing and includes so many different areas of our lives, including areas that may not be so obvious. - Overcome Obstacles: With work and daily life, stress can overshadow taking care of our health. - Sustained Change: Getting to the root cause of issues is the only way to create sustainable, long-term change. Quick fixes don't work. - Goal Setting: We all have different goals, but we all want to feel great in our bodies and get there in a way that’s empowering, exciting, and enjoyable. A Holistic and Integrative Nutrition, Health, and Wellness Coach is a guide who empowers you and provides ongoing support and guidance as you set goals and make sustainable changes that improve your health and happiness. We will create a plan that is specifically tailored to you and address your goals, which may include, but are not limited to: - Weight loss - Stress/anxiety management - Eating for a better mood - Sleep hygiene - Gut health/the microbiome - Chronic and autoimmune conditions - Health maintenance, optimization, and longevity Together we will: - Bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be - Decipher your body’s unique needs - Create a tailored plan that is enjoyable and easily integrated into your life - Set your personal goals and work towards sustainable change - Root cause of your issues, overcome obstacles, and modify as needed - Monitor progress and maintain accountability What you get: - Four 60-minute sessions per month - Communication between sessions - Resources and information geared toward your learning style such as articles, handouts, podcasts, recipes, videos, books, and more - Services specific to your needs, including but not limited to: - Pantry and fridge makeovers, grocery store tours, and helping you learn how to read food labels | Grocery lists, cooking demos, recipes - Understanding supplements - Going through menus prior to eating out - Meditation and relaxation techniques Yoga is a big impetus for change through creating mind-body awareness. So many of us allow the stress of our daily lives to consume us to the point that we ignore warning signs our bodies are telling us about our health, mental or physical, until an issue becomes a full blown problem. And too often we allow the conditioned mind to go unchecked and perpetuate unhealthy patterns that keep us stuck or not feeling our best. What we give our attention to is what grows and manifests. And often we’re not even aware of where our minds are time traveling to. It is only when we foster this self-awareness, coupled with desire, that true change and growth can happen in every aspect of our lives and our being - physical, mental, relational, emotional, spiritual, and environmental. My specialties in yoga include vinyasa flow and core work, yin and restorative yoga, breath work, and meditation. I include modifications for accessibility, props, relaxation techniques, and aromatherapy when appropriate. I work virtually and in person.

I took one session from Caroline and I had a really great experience. My instructor (Caroline) had really helpful feedback and modifications /amplifications as necessary to accommodate the different levels of experience each person had with the yoga poses. I was glad to feel like I was fully participating in the session without risking injury or feeling uncomfortable as someone who is newer to yoga. The session was challenging but low impact, exactly what I was looking for when it comes to my goal of building strength. My favorite part of the session was the relaxing wind down and stress on mindfulness. I highly recommend CJ Wellness and I am excited to attend my next session soon!

My goals working with Caroline as a yoga teacher and health coach were to ease my back pain, increase my flexibility, and reduce my stress levels. We did a lot of stretching and yin yoga together. She gave me tools to stretch out my back and breathing and relaxation techniques to calm down whenever I start to feel anxious. I've noticed a significant decrease in my back pain and stress levels and my flexibility has increased substantially. Caroline is extremely knowledgeable and calming. She is able to adjust based on your needs/concerns/preferences. Her vast knowledge base makes her adept at addressing any issue you have and if in the rare case she doesn’t know, she will research on her own time and follow up with you because she is so devoted to her clients. Her presence is soothing and relaxing. She will make beginners and experts alike feel comfortable. I would recommend Caroline to anyone facing a health issue that wants to feel advised and supported in a safe space (ranging from anxiety to sleep issues to autoimmune to weight loss). I would also recommend her to anyone interested in yoga - whether it’s a more active or relaxing practice, at any level. Amanda L.

My top three goals upon starting the yoga sessions were to improve strength, increase flexibility, and build endurance. The biggest tangible change I have noticed since beginning the sessions has been the increase in my endurance. The most significant overall change I have noticed has been my increase in flexibility. Caroline is patient, experienced, and passionate. I would recommend Caroline to yoga enthusiasts who want to work with an experienced teacher who motivates students to find true inner peace and their healthiest self. She is not only an amazing teacher, she has a wide range of knowledge in nutrition and health coaching. It is difficult sometimes to not get distracted asking for help with diet information during our sessions. She has a wealth of information and an absolute pleasure to work with. Stephanie L.

My top three goals upon starting the 3-month program/yoga sessions were to find ways to manage my anxiety more naturally, to sleep more deeply, and to identify diet changes I could make that would help to increase my daily energy. Caroline has helped me with a multi-pronged approach to wellness. She has guided me through restorative yoga poses that have helped to center and ground me, and to quiet my mind after periods of high stress. Her focus on breath work has proved to be a powerful counterbalance to periods of high anxiety that I often struggle to manage. She was even kind enough to share a voice recording of a breath work exercise so that I can practice her teachings on my own and build on the progress we have made together. Caroline has also recommended a variety of supplements and targeted whole foods that have helped to enhance my energy and reduce my anxiety. The perceptible shift in my day-to-day wellness through implementing Caroline's teachings / best practices has created a huge shift in my belief in holistic healing. When I encounter an obstacle with my anxiety, I feel better equipped with a set of tools to manage it. Caroline is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to yoga, meditation, and holistic healing. She takes a very hands on approach to her clients, investing ample time to understand their unique needs and coming up with a bespoke treatment plan tailored to those needs. Further, Caroline has an incredibly calming presence, which makes me look forward to sessions with her. I would recommend my coach/teacher to anyone who is looking to make mental or physical health changes and find more balance through natural methods.
