Sean spray lacquered my custom kitchen cabinet doors. Not only did Sean deliver an excellent result, he was also able to turn the job around quickly. When we ran into a minor obstacle prior to installation, Sean was available same day and resolved the issue in a very fast, professional and friendly way. His shop in Orange is conveniently close to my house and I will certainly work with Sean again. I can highly recommend him for refinishing your furniture/cabinets or for custom builds.
This was my first experience with Thumbtack and I was very pleased with Sylvain Marie, who responded very quickly to my request for someone to refinish an antique side table. I e-mailed some pictures of the piece as he requested and he soon responded with an estimate of the time required to repair and refinish a very battered table. He came exactly when he said he would to pick up the piece and returned it a few days earlier than I had told him I needed it. He stuck to his original estimate, but told me that if the job took less time he would charge accordingly. The table is now stunning and I am thrilled with his work and plan to hire him again for other refinishing of my antique furniture. I was especially impressed by his knowledge of wood types and methods of repair and also by the way he handled the old furniture with real gentleness and respect!
Arturo reglued and reupholstered 8 antique chairs, which were very unstable and in a couple cases broken (we had the pieces). He and his crew did a great job on them all, and in a timely way. I highly recommend him.
I found Jim to be an absolute craftsman with furniture refinishing and canning. He's extremely knowledgeable about antiques and caring for them. Working with Jim was a pleasure because he's a great communicator with the specific steps involved within a project which instilled confidence and there were no surprises, only delight, with the finished product. I knew my pieces were in talented hands and I'm grateful for Jim's expertise and hard work with my projects which were completed in the time frame promised.
Friendly reliable prompt - excellent restoration of a pair of antique arts & crafts chairs. Will hire him again.
Bernard is very professional and very talented. He did a great job with an antique French chair as well as with contemporary shaker-design stairs.
Brian was professional, responsive, and did a great job refinishing some antique wooden theater chairs for us. He took pictures at every stage of the process and we're very excited for them to sit in our newly-renovated space.
Restored missing veneer piece on antique desk invisibly. Removed water stain from mahogany table. Restored chipped veneer and removed stain from walnut cabinet. Thoroughly professional--prompt, neat, quoted price before starting each job. Excellent!
I highly recommend Francois to anyone reading this. I've been a customer of his for several years now, and In that time, he's assisted me with: new flooring, ceiling renovations, furniture fabrication and installation, plumbing, electrical work, painting, wall and ceiling repair, and appliance repair / replacement. I hired Mr. Newman based on recommendations from friends, but I continued to use him because I have yet to meet a handyman / contractor who is as consistently responsive, honest, and fairly priced as he is. Work was completed as quoted and on budget, something that has been very hard to find in my experience. If you want quality work, at a good price, without playing phone tag for days; look no further!
Ely Lira reupholstered an antique (approximately 80-90 years old) recliner/glider chair for us. the antique piece belonged to my husband's grandfather and was in such poor condition we were considering throwing it out. The cushions were completely torn, the wood was scratched, and the springs were broken to the point where when you sat on the chair, you practically sat all the way down to the floor! That's where Ely came in! Ely came to our apartment to give us a free estimate. He provided us with a selection of fabrics and also a recommendation of a fabric store in our location. He came back to pick up the chair as well as the fabric (3 trips to our apartment by this point). He completed the work in about 2 weeks and the personally delivered the chair back to us. WOW, what can I say but the chair looks OUTSTANDING! I could never imagine that it would look as good as it does. The fabric looks perfect, the springs are springy, and even the wood has been de-scuffed. We are SO happy with the work. I would definitely recommend Ely's work to anybody looking to get an antique piece of furniture reupholstered.
Glen did an AMAZING job restoring an antique table that has been in my family for 4 generations. I was very nervous to have anyone refinish the top or repair the leg, but I am glad I trusted Glen to do so. He was super responsive, friendly, professional and takes pride in his work. The table now looks the perfect balance of polished and distressed. Thank you Glen!!! (3 before photos and 1 after photo attached)
Tim did an incredible job refinishing/restoring our antique dining table and chairs. He was reliable and reasonably priced. His was was exceptional. He has a wide array of experience in custom finishes, restoration and refinishing. Would certainly use him again.
Simon is an artist! I'm renovating my apartment and I had five pine antique pieces that were in terrible shape. What I got back from Simon was absolutely beautiful work done on my furniture. Impeccable work! The pieces look like they just came from a store. I'm thrilled with the results! Simon is worth every penny! As soon as I move back, I will publish before and after pictures.
We were looking for someone to both refinish some very old but well-made furniture that was in very bad condition and also do some minor touch-up work on many pieces of furniture throughout our home. Louis gave an estimate based on photos we emailed and the estimate didn't change once he came to the house to see it. His price was about half that of an estimate we got from another company. We were so thrilled with the transformation of our furniture, which Louis researched and found it to have been built in 1880.
Darrel refinished a pottery barn table that had been damaged. We had the painted top stripped down and then restained. He did a fabulous job and I would highly recomend his services. Darrel went above and beyond and I am very happy with the finished product!
Just wanted to drop you a note to let you know that Kevin completed the work for myself and Ken. He did a wonderful job, was very professional and provided great customer service. I would highly recommend your company. Shirin

We are restoration specialists delivering an amazing experience. We repair it all: wood, leather, granite, cabinets (new or old) and baby cribs. You name it, we do it! We're a fine furniture repair and touch-up artist. We do not strip and refinish unless it is part of a complete restoration. We specialize in coming to you and doing work on site. If the work is extensive, we bring the piece back to our shop.
