When the word “healthy” comes to mind you think of things like food, dieting, exercise, and mental wellness. You think of a” healthy lifestyle” as an attribute; maybe something you strive to obtain or something you feel isn’t attainable. All those words can float around, but when you put them together it creates the language of fitness. In the year of 2019, little did I know I would meet a personal trainer that became my fitness foreign language guru. My healthy lifestyle journey began because I was lucky enough to meet a trainer who knew exactly what I needed and wanted before I could even articulate them. All my life I had struggled with being overweight and a relationship with food, which took a significant toll on my mental health. My starting weight at the time (2019) was 203 lbs. It was time for me to take a class in fitness - not just generic fitness - fitness tailored to my 203lb body type. We began to repair my relationship with food by talking about what I ate, the amount, and the effect on my body. These were all hard things for me to grasp, but my trainer took the time to create analogies, send me diagrams, and truly make it easy to love what I was eating. The best part about this was I learned what my body needed- I didn’t diet or cut foods out of my diet, I simply learned to eat smarter. My trainer helped me find ways to still include foods I love (like wine and chocolate) and still be on par with my weight loss goals. Not only did my trainer help create food habits that stuck for me, they also taught me about how to exercise for my weight loss goals. All my life I had thought cardio was what I was supposed to be doing - the more sweating the more calories burned right? Nope, my trainer taught me how to strength train to replace fat with muscle. I never thought that almost 2 years later that I would be deadlifting, squatting, hip thrusting and so much more. I have truly never felt like a more powerful person in my life. My trainer also made these workouts fit into my crazy schedule. If I could only workout twice a week, they made it work. If I needed to take time off, they made it work. Throughout a pandemic when I couldn’t go to a gym, they STILL made it work. The combination of these lessons in eating and working out resulted in a 55lb weight loss. I started in December 2019 at 203lbs and by April 2020 I weighed 160lbs. Despite the world shutting down, my trainer stuck by me throughout it all and still has to the very day. Now weighing 148lbs - a weight that I don’t ever think I’ve seen on the scale before- I am a happy, healthier, better version of myself. This trainer went beyond teaching me the language of fitness, they helped me stay consistent, they helped me face some tough battles mentally and most of all they became my friend. A friend that cared about my health goals and ensured that I was not only going to reach them, but I was going to stick with them for the rest of my life. 55lbs down and I still have goals I want to reach thanks to my trainer. I started in 2019 and I know I’m not stopping! If you are thinking about hiring a trainer, look no further. This trainer is the best of the best - a fitness language guru, a life coach, and friend - they will change your life, as they certainly changed mine.

Best personal trainer in the area. Listened to my needs and customized the perfect workout for me. A huge help with my food intake and pushes me in my workouts. I recommend him to all my friends and non friends who are looking for a PT.

As someone who has struggled with my weight my whole life it was always very intimidating to seek out professional help. However I found a very understanding and supportive trainer who has made me feel comfortable with myself and the changes I have made and still are making! Highly recommend SP fit!

When Spenser and I first started, he told me he’d never stop until I reached my goal. He did not lie lol!!! There’s been a few times when I felt like giving up completely. His persistence and positivity encouraged me to continue. I’m noticeably stronger and I’ve found some confidence with that strength as well!

During Covid many gyms were closed as we all know. I hired a personal trainer from Super power and have continued working with them to date. My goals of staying toned as well as losing weight were met and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great workout and professionalism.
