Ashwini B. says, "I hired Bamm's to change my heating oil hydro forced air system as well as the water heater to the Air source heat pump and Hybrid heat pump water heater. His team installed 2 three ton cold climate ASHP with 2 Air handlers (Tosot T Unix, it is rebadged Gree flexx). Then replaced the water heater to Rheem 50G Hybrid Water heater. Got rid of the old oil furnace and water heater. Initially the proposal was $21k. As my project needed some additional electric wiring and I requested to file permits first, these cost extra. The total cost of the project was close to ~$25k (this included sales tax for the new equipment, electric wiring charges and filing charges). No ductwork needed. CT installers were either too expensive or didn't provide cold climate ASHP options. The project did take longer than expected. They installed the first heat pump in April end (takes about 1 day per equipment), the next one 15 days or so later and the water heater as well. Junk removal was scheduled 20 days later or so. But installers made sure we had heat and hot water except during actual installation. This is a constructive feedback I would give Rich, that is he needs to give better time estimate and needs some assistant who can do the paperwork. That is to say things like invoices, clear estimate breakdown. He needs to communicate the expectations clearly such as what is extra and what is included. This will go a long way. That's why I removed 1 star from the review. We initially thought old equipment removal included oil tank removal, which is not the case. As long as it was made clear in the project estimate it would have been better. Originally Rich was not part of the Energize CT installer network. Up on my request he registered on it as it is needed for CT residents to claim any rebates, which was nice. This was one of the main decision making criteria for the project for us, the other being price. Project came with 1 yr workmanship warranty and 10 yr parts warranty. It's been 5 months since the installation. However, Had one issue with the heat pump not producing enough heat, which was a result of adding low refrigerant level during installation, Rich sent his team member Matt, who diagnosed it and took care of it. So far all is well."See more
