Today I met with Joshua for the first time for a "trial" voice lesson if you will- so I can compare a few instructors. Right away I felt comfortable around him. He was such a sweet heart and extremely patient with me. He's gonna be a tough act to follow :)

I had Joshua as a voice teacher for a year while attending NYU undergrad. While I took his one-on-one class, he was always on time. In addition to being polite, he was very patient and helpful in depicting how and what type of sound he wanted me to produce with my voice. He gave great examples of good technique and lessons were always fun and constructive.

Recently I had the opportunity to take a one hour lesson with Josh Bailey. I have been having problems with a feeling of tightness in my throat as well as feeling very insecure reaching the top notes in my voice range, which is Dramatic Baritone. Within that one hour, Mr. Bailey made a few adjustments to my breathing, and using his technique I was able focus mu voice forward feeling comfortable and secure. I am using a practice tape we made at the lesson daily and am now able to reach a high B with ease, and am totally enjoying singing.

I had the pleasure of working with Josh Bailey this year when he taught a Vocal Master Class in Redding. Knowing his history and training I was very excited for him to work with my students. Being a singing instructor of ten years myself, I am extreamly selective with choosing any other instructors to work with my students, but after hearing him sing and watching him perform, I was convinced that he would provide a wonderful learning opportunity for them. Josh's vocal technique was not only spot-on, but it was so effective I have continued using his techniques and unique excersizes in my private studio. The students gained a lot from his knowledge, and his personality and fun teaching style made the class a pleasure. I would highly recommend Josh Bailey to any student looking for a knowledgeable and talented instructor. Trish Harris, Redding, CA

Josh is an amazing teacher and a great guy. He made me feel comfortable and was very patient with me. He can teach many different styles too!!!! He was able to help me in a blues/rock style of voice. He showed me exercises and stylistic techniques to use to my advantage. I highly reccomend Josh as a vocal coach.

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

It is Important to find a Voice Teacher that is more than just a singer trying to make some money on the side. Does the teacher have any education in teaching singing? (not just a performance degree) Is the teacher part of any voice teaching organizations? Does the teacher teach a heathy, natural sound that is unique to every student or do they teach a certain "Style" and all their students sound the same? Most importantly you should come out of a lesson feeling great mentally and physically. You should never come out of a lesson with a voice that is strained or tired, and you should not feel like you have failed or are not good enough. If that is the case YOUR TEACHER HAS FAILD YOU.
