I am very disappointed with William McHale from Dundee Construction Solutions. He came out to our house and looked at the area in our wall that we needed repaired and told us that he had experience doing jobs like ours. He told us that he would cut the damaged area of our wall out and replace it with new drywall. We scheduled the job for June 30th. On the 29th he called us and said he had mechanical trouble with his truck and needed to take it in for service. We re-scheduled for today, July 2nd. He was supposed to arrive around 3:00PM. At around 2:00PM I received a call that he would be running late and it would be closer to 4:00PM. He also informed us that now he was worried about there being asbestos in our drywall and even though I assured him that there wasn't and that we have had other contractors do remodeling work in our kitchen with no asbestos concerns, including cutting into drywall to replace a back door with a wider French door and redesigning a wall into our family room, he gave us an ultimatum to either let him do a patch job rather than replace the drywall or not have him do the job. My husband and I feel that this was just an excuse on his part to do a simpler job or to get out of the job altogether. A responsible handyman would have mentioned a concern about asbestos when he first saw the job before giving us his estimate. He cancelled on us one time and didn't bring up this issue until an hour before he was to show up to complete the job. The other companies that did work in my kitchen were not handymen. They were employees of large, reputable local companies with very good reputations. If there was any doubt about asbestos being involved, they would have had us take care of the issue before they started my job. I suggest that you don't keep Mr. McHale as one of your recommended handymen. It will reflect badly on your website. As it is, now I have to look for another handyman that will be responsible and honest to complete my wall repair.

Shelley- You are somewhat correct...Yes, I had to reschedule (I can present repair receipts) - yes, I was running a little late today- yes, the thought about asbestos unfortunately was not communicated to you upon my first visit to your home, but with no documentation stating the absence of asbestos containing materials, and your reluctance to have it tested, I could not, in good conscience expose you and your family to such a potential hazard. The repair could have just as easily been completed without removing the gypsum board, any good craftsman would agree. I'm sorry we both had a negative experience, but for me, based on the phone conversation I had with your husband (who said some things to me that I won't repeat here) this falling out was a blessing in disguise. -Bill Ephesians 4:29 "Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
