I proposed the idea to Ryan to build a custom-fitted cabinet with pull-out trash and recycling in the unused built-in desk space in our kitchen. Ryan came over, took some measurements, and sent over a bunch of ideas and options to choose from. He was very upfront about the price and fair every step along the way. He also maintained consistent communication providing updates and was extremely professional throughout the whole process. Ryan was able to match the rest of my kitchen cabinets almost exactly and you cannot even tell that the cabinet was put in after the rest of them. We were extremely pleased with the quality of work performed and you can tell Ryan takes pride in getting the job done right. We cannot emphasize enough how pleased we are and would recommend Chestnut Ridge for any of your custom wood-working needs! Thanks again Ryan!

Ryan was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We asked Ryan to build cabinets and drawers within existing open bookshelves to make the office space more functional. He helped with the custom design, fabricated and installed the cabinets. He designed the trim so it exactly matched the existing space. Though not in the original plan, Ryan ended up painting the entire room to be sure the color and technique flowed throughout the space. Ryan was punctual, communicative, tidy and his work is top quality.

We contacted Ryan at Chestnut Ridge to build a custom storage unit for our master bedroom closet. This was to replace the basic reach-in setup we had.
From day one, communication with Ryan was prompt and a breeze! He was great at helping us flesh out the design we had in our heads and was great at answering all my dumb questions!
He kept in constant contact during the build at his workshop, and was considerate to swing by and pick up the drawer pulls from our front porch while we were out of town.
Installation went smooth over a day and a half, and before walking away, Ryan touched up the stain in some small spots and made sure the finishing touches on the unit looked great!
We love the unit/set up! And its high quality and the tailoring to our wishes really makes all the difference.
I would recommend Chestnut Ridge to everyone I know. If like me, you are skeptical/tired of the big box stores or mass produced online options; treat yourself to Ryans craftmanship!

Outstanding Experience, Quality and Workmanship!
We had a solid wood bedroom set that we bought when my wife and I first married - but that was 30yrs ago - so the honey gold coloring was a bit dated to say the least. We contacted several potential companies to refinish and Ryan was by far the most impressive from his interactions with us, including providing suggestions on options for coloring (we chose a combination of painting and staining) , to his methods for applying (he sprayed on the coloring - so no brush stokes!).
During the process he stopped by our house multiple times with samples of paint and stain helping us settle in on our final choice. He came and picked up the furniture- being very careful to make sure they were handled with care.
And then - the final product came - and we couldn’t wait to tear off the bubble wrap! Wow - we couldn’t have been happier! Outstanding quality - like it came straight from the factory and was brand new! And the color choices he helped us with turned out to be super impressive! We couldn’t have been happier with the whole experience and the resulting product. If you have any refinishing work needed you can’t go wrong with Chestnut Ridge and Ryan, simply the best!
