About
I have been a full service residential and commercial general contractor for over 35 years. I have recently downsized my business. Starting in 2019, I am only doing residential and light commercial repair, remodeling and addition projects. I'm tired of the commercial construction rat race. In commercial construction, almost nobody says thank you at the end of the job. Commercial and government construction jobs are all about the lowest price, get it done fast and then wait to get paid. For many years I enjoyed participating in commercial and public jobs that hundreds or thousands of people would see and appreciate. But now I prefer to focus on working with homeowners and small business owners, getting that thank you at the end of the job.
If a homeowner or small business owner has professional plans (drawings and specifications prepared by a licensed architect or engineer) I will be glad to bid on the project. I can also design a project and have a licensed engineer review my plans and stamp them if required for a building permit. I have had several residential customers tell me that my price was not the lowest but they felt the most confident and comfortable with my design, the thoroughness of my written proposal and ultimately they were pleased with the final product. I stand by my motto "high quality work at a competitive price."
I do not take short cuts to save a few dollars. Remodeling contractors are notorious for taking short cuts on plumbing, wiring, ductwork, insulation, subfloors, etc. I feel that what's behind the walls and under the floor is sometimes even more important than what the customer sees as the final product. Remodeling an older home can be especially challenging to update what's behind the walls and still keep the character/ architectural style of the older home. This is one of my specialties.
My specialties for home and small business remodeling include kitchens, bathrooms (including ADA compliant toilet rooms and bathrooms), family rooms (including gas fireplaces), basements, attics, master bedrooms and offices.
I will also do smaller repair or installation jobs when I am available and in particular for existing/ repeat customers.
I always prefer if a customer calls me directly and we talk for a few minutes rather than going back and forth several times with e-mails. I prefer very limited texting. My written proposals are very thorough and I pride myself on never having had a dispute with a customer over the quality of my work.
I hope I may be of service to you.

Andrew is fantastic, and his work speaks for itself. We had a pipe issue that we needed remedied ASAP and we couldn't have made a better choice. Andrew was on it within a day, finished the work expediently, and his price was competitive as well. That's all not to mention that he clearly takes pride in his work, as his craftsmanship was clean, neat, and far more efficient than our prior setup. We will be calling Andrew again, and you should too.

We hired Andrew for what we thought was a simple repair project to a neglected garage, but what turned into a major overhaul! Sill boards and stud ends had rotted over time, causing the structure to settle at several points, the sides to shift outward, and the entire structure to lean to the rear. Andrew accurately diagnosed all the problems, and engineered the appropriate corrective measures. Andrew took the time to explain each of the issues with the old structures, the steps he proposed to correct each of them. Although the project took about twice as long as anticipated (partially due to rainy weather), and some of the corrective (and preventative measures) Andrew designed and/or recommended resulted in a higher costs than estimated (but less than 10% higher), we are extremely satisfied with both the quality of Andrew's work, and the finished product! I will be using Andrew for a couple of future projects, and highly recommend him for your project.

Andrew and his team delivered exactly what we needed for our repair. Good-better-best options for the amount of work, good communication, and a very nice finished product. The repair to our front stoop looks sharp and was completed for a fair price. Thanks!

This was a difficult project but Andrew help us try to figure it out. He spent time researching materials and technique but in the end we decided to not do the work. Andrew was very responsive and worked with us and fully respected our ideas and comments. Very professional. We will be calling him again for other less problematic projects in the future for sure. Thank you Andrew.

Andrew was a true professional and took care of replacing a foundational sill-plate on a home I was buying. The job appeared to be a difficult task to me, but Andrew found a way to fix it as if new! I would recommend him for any sort of job. He also gave me good tips on other minor repairs I might be in for in the future with the home, roofing, siding, etc. Andrew is very knowledgeable and trustworthy! I'd hire him again in an instant!
