Steve is a really great teacher! He takes into consideration what I want to learn and what my goals are. His lessons have a perfect balance between learning music theory and basic skills, and working on songs that I’ve always wanted to learn. I feel like I am making progress on the guitar and learning a lot from each lesson. Also, he is flexible with scheduling which has been really convenient for me! I highly recommend Steve as a teacher!May 16, 2018Verified
Steve's lessons offer a relaxed atmosphere and a flexible approach. He adapted his strategies to the things I was already doing and based the lessons on things I was interested in. Basic practice strategies and handwritten directions were provided at each lesson.Nov 3, 2017
Steve is not only a great musician and teacher, but a terrific role model for my kids. He always shows up on time ready to teach with a positive attitude. My children always look forward to his lessons and they are motivated to continue with their musical practice.Jun 10, 2018

I have been taking Bass Guitar and Drum lessons from Steve for over a year. Steve exhibits the utmost in professionalism and take the time to make sure I've mastered the task at hand before we move on to the next lesson. I would highly recommend Steve to any aspiring musician. Joe BMay 15, 2018
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My rates vary depending on job type, if travel is involved, and my availability. Online Lesson rates are best. Contact me to quote your project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I like to talk with each student beforehand and hear where the student is at with their musicianship. I love hearing about a students goals, motivations, and inspirations. I try and cater to each individual student and see where they're at and give them tools that are going to help them with their instrument and overall musicianship.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I've been playing music for over 15 years and have been playing in bands and gigging for just as long. I was very lucky to have grown up with friends that were also playing music and kids right in my neighborhood who were forming bands and going out and playing shows. I've been lucky to be able to study music more formally and have had lessons and have been in classes some of the best teachers in the country. I've studied Bass Guitar, including Music and Performance at Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA) and graduated from Naropa University (Boulder, CO) with a BA in Music. I've been teaching at local music schools since graduating from college and have taught at schools in the New York area such as Paul Green's Rock Academy in Woodstock, NY, Croton Music Academy in Croton-On-Hudson, NY and New Windsor Music Academy in New Windsor, NY. I've been a part of growing and successful website where I teach my online lessons as well. I believe in the mind/body connection and practice yoga and mediation regularly. I believe in a compassionate approach to music and listening, as well as openness in both music and life. The combination of learning by playing with others, listening, formal training, and spiritual practice all give me tools to help each student that I work with in achieving their musical goals.
