We hired Classic Events Concierge (CEC) to staff our wedding held in the Hudson Valley of New York in August of 2014. While most of their staff performed fine, some of their employees were incompetent in a way that cost us additional money and which lessened the enjoyment of our guests. Classic Events Concierge’s owner Tim refused to stand by their work and essentially told us “tough luck” when we brought up the issue of their incompetent employees. Because of this issue and their response to it (detailed below), we cannot recommend CEC. The issues originated with the bartender CEC provided for our event who, in our opinion, was clearly incompetent. The bartender and Tim couldn’t work the tap system we had (a simplistic system that is very common and is basic bar tending knowledge), despite assurance beforehand they did know how to use it. The couldn’t figure out how to get the gas to work correctly - one of our beers was coming out completely flat while the other was coming out as nothing but foam. We had the system checked the preceding day and there were no issues with it. Midway though the reception Tim told us we ran out of beer, necessitating one of the groomsmen and the godfather of the bridge having to run out mid-reception and spend over $100 on extra bottles and cans of beer. When we cleaned up the next morning we found that one of the kegs was 3/4 full. We couldn’t believe it. Simply lifting the keg would have demonstrated that it was not close to empty. The bartender and Tim were disorganized and unable to keep even basic things straight. We had two beers on tap and the bartender kept confusing them, despite being told multiple times by multiple people which beer was which. People kept getting the wrong beer all night long. Tim also told us midway through the reception that we ran out of tequila. The next morning we found an entire case of tequila, unopened. The bartender had trouble with even the simplest of drinks and was unfamiliar with basic cocktail ingredients. If he had any experience at all, my guess is that it was was nothing more than opening beer bottles. We were most displeased about being told we ran out of beer when it was clearly not the case. This was an expensive, hard-to-obtain keg of craft beer that went near completely to waste. Members of the wedding party had to miss a significant portion of the reception while they ran out to buy more beer, spending even more money on beer. We addressed these issues with Tim a few days later. He initially laughed when told about the unused beer and said that he hoped that we were able to still use. We then asked him to cover the $100 cost of the extra beer we had to purchase mid-ceremony, since it was necessitated by him and his employee’s mistake. He refused and then chastised us for not paying him in full the night of the wedding. When pressed as to why he didn’t process the payment that night as was agreed upon, he admitted that he was could not because he mistakenly threw out our credit card information. Clearly, Tim does not stand by the work of his bartender and blames other people for his mistakes. In summary, we found Classic Events Concierge to be disorganized, to hire incompetent employees, and to not stand by the work they do. We cannot recommend them.

Hello Tom, It is extremely unfortunate that you did not enjoy fully the experience we provided you with as our previous customers have. Considering the work my staff and I personally put in once your caterers left, with no instructions and the food outside rather then stored in the hot boxes or fridges. Additionally this comes as a surprise considering how throughout the night the staff and myself received nothing but compliments. The same staff that you referred to ceaseless as incompetent assured that your food was at temperature, that the site was spotless securing your security deposit with the venue, and extended themselves above and beyond considering the large guest count. Regarding payment, as agreed upon in our contract payment was due at the close of the event and was not received until a week after. A mere reminder was given when asked for $100 off of the final bill. I did not throw out or loose any credit information, as I use Square as my processor and I do not have the ability to save client information, which is in most cases favorable. As stated clearly in the agreement, the balance was due in check at the close of the event. All the best, Tim

Excellent service. Bartender came on time. Was very courteous and capable. Creating their own menu was a nice touch. I would use them again.

We used Tim's for our Christmas party this year. He was excellent! The guest loved that all the drinks were hand made and they could have signature drinks or anything else. We will be using him for all of our parties from now on. We have a great worry free night and really got to enjoy ourselves!
