I have seen BCS' work and know first hand about their approach to client management and their regard for the end user experience. As a design professional and project manager, I value the type of expertise BCS brings to the construction process. They deliver quality control and know how to streamline production and construction administration, giving me the freedom and assurance I need to focus on exploring good design.

I hired Jampaganza Management 3 years ago and to my delight, I was able to walk away from my property as I saw it was in good hands. My calls are always answered, they work with me on prices no matter what our contract states, they are firm and kind with my tenants, emergencies are always handled immediately, rent collection is on time, tenants pay or pay late fees and Jampaganza Management company collects. Esteban holds diligence and professionalism in his daily activities and his employees are very respectful to me and my tenants. I highly recommend to anyone who cares about piece of mind and financial success with their property to try out Jampaganza Management. I assure you will not regret it!!!

I own property in the Park Slope Area in Brooklyn New York. I have been with John Hoelzle Property Manager from Real Property Management Innovation since January 1, 2016. I have found John Hoelzle, very professional and knowledgeable. He will go the extra mile to solve an issue. There was a problem with the resident bathroom toilet. John handle the situation and kept me informed until the problem was resolved. If I have any issues of concern I can always contact him by email or call. Every month I get an invoice of the collection of rents and any repairs that was done during the month. I look forward to a long term working with relation with John Hoelzle and his company.

I am very happy with the service of Popow Real Estate Group. They were referred to me by a friend who was helped by their company looking for a rental space. I was very satisfied how they delt with my need. He asked me first my requirements and showed me several options. He really knows his business very well and gave me suggestions which actually help me in deciding. Josh Popow is very professional, honest and punctual. He got me the space I need which was right in my budget. I will be dealing with them from now on and I will definitely recommend them. Great Job!

As a management company, Lisa Management excedes all expectations. Property managers are always involved with the tenants and any concerns that may arise. Easy to communicate with and possess a good connection to a series of contractors who do outstanding work. Highly proficient in managing finances, their greatest asset is probably handling budgets. Building owners get the most out of their budgets when dealing with this company.

Landlord Management is the right crew for taking care of my apartment building like a 5 star hotel. After living in my new apartment for a few weeks, (which is under the Landlord Management) my husband asked jokingly "what's your plan how long did you plan to stay here in this hotel?") Absolutely the best service I've ever seen in this line, keep it up the great work guys.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a property management company do?

Property management companies manage the rental of residential homes, apartments, condos, commercial spaces and retail spaces. Property managers can oversee just a single unit or many properties, whether those sites are inhabited full-time or are vacation rentals. A property management company helps a property owner or landlord find tenants; collects rent; takes care of accounting, property maintenance and repairs; handles on-site management; and manages vacation rental check-in and checkout tasks. Although many property owners or landlords successfully manage their own rental real estate, a property management company can help you handle tenant issues and maintenance problems, especially if you are not located in the same city or state. Most property management companies deal with tenants directly, and their tasks include:

  • Marketing the rental property
  • Collecting rent
  • Handling repair problems
  • Responding to tenant complaints
  • Evicting tenants

A property management company may be a good choice for property owners who have several investment properties, live far away from the rental property, or don’t have time for hands-on management.

Why is property management important?

A property management company can be a landlord’s greatest asset. As a neutral third party, the property manager handles the day-to-day operations of a real estate investment, from a single vacation home to a large apartment building or several rental properties. A property management company can be especially helpful to landlords who own several units and can’t manage each of them individually, or those who live too far from their investment properties to meet with renters and oversee maintenance. Property management is particularly important if your rentals are part of an affordable housing program. To receive financial assistance from the government, the landlord must comply with a complicated set of rules; property management companies should have both experience and expertise in complying with the rules specific to each housing program.

Do property managers need to be licensed?

The licensing requirements for property managers vary from state to state, but many states require property managers to have a real estate broker’s license and in some cases be a legal resident of a state. Property management may not be specified in a state real estate statute, but according to the Institute of Real Estate Management their activities may include advertising the availability of a rental property, discussing a property management agreement with an owner, negotiating leases, showing a rental property and collecting rents.
