FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Bigger projects (1 day+) I charge an estimate fee which is absorbed into the final cost if I'm hired to do the work. Smaller jobs I can usually quote over the phone, or customers have the option of hiring me at an hourly rate. My estimates are based on similar projects done in the area.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Every customer is different, some want quick and cheap, others prefer to spend a little more time and money for perfection. If materials or designs haven't been decided yet I like to ask what's their ideal project regardless of timeline and budget, that opens discussion about the services I could offer to make that happen.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of my training comes from being in the field. I started out as a laborer doing the grunt work and as I learned I moved up the ladder to lead carpenter status. I've worked with many contractors, subcontractors, and companies so I've seen and learned a lot of different skills along the way.
