Introduction: Our approach is distinguished by an approach that works with nature. This contrasts a design approach commonly used in which the primary goal is to express control and order. Often it is nothing but outdoor decorating. Common landscapes in this area are mulch based systems. Plants are isolated from each other in geometric patterns in beds against the house. We use a plant based system. Beds are planted with flowering perennials that spread to reduce mulching and weeding. The result is we can deliver reduced maintenance to our clients with an outdoor space that meets their living needs and contributes to an exciting ecologically responsible and thriving place to relax and enjoy life. We feel better in these kinds of places, and it is our hope we can provide this to our clients. Not to mention give them some extra time to enjoy it by making it easier to take care of! Another solution to weeds? We use plants in many areas that are taller than the weeds. We can reduce mowing, trimming, and blowing by replacing some square feet of lawn with small wooded areas, mini-meadows, or edible plantings both perennial or annual vegetable. I enjoy giving clients an experience where they can better enjoy their life. I can give them more time to spend with their family. I can provide the joy of looking out their window and seeing some goldfinches visit some flowers, or hear them with a window open or outside. A butterfly might have actually started out as a caterpillar in their garden, or it might grab some nectar as it makes it's way around the neighborhood. It can be fun to show guests what you are doing different at your house, or just take in all the different flowers and diversity of shrubs and trees.
