Sondra T. says, "I contacted StookU and told them what I expected from a teacher, and they paired me with Johnny-Ray, who is AMAZING! Every lesson is taped so you are able to go and back and review. There is also a Google doc link with uploaded material as you learn. The cost of lessons is reasonable. The best part, though, is my teacher, Johnny-Ray. He plays several instruments and is knowledgable about music theory and music history. When asked a question, he always has the answer. I take guitar with him. I liked him so much that my husband also started taking guitar lessons with him, but he teaches other things too. My hsuband enjoys the lessons as well. Johnny-Ray is a quality teacher. My husband and I are at different levels on the guitar and have different goals, and he created a separate and distinct lesson plan for each of us. He is always on time and ready to work. I have nothing but glowing things to say about him. A+ Experience."See more

Have you or a family member always wanted to play guitar? Since 2015 I have offered 1-2-1 lessons for children, adults and seniors out of my home studio. My teaching style is flexible. If you want formal, I can teach you how to read music and play guitar. If you just want to learn the chords and riffs of your favorite songs, we can go in that direction. • I book lessons in 30-45 minute increments just in student run late. • My cancellation policy is flexible. I re-schedule makeup classes ASAP. • As a professional event musician, I share my 300+ song library with my students. I also locate sheet music for my students' favorite songs.
